When I was in back in 1969 we spent one time in Vietnam ( 13 months ) and then we were sent home for good. So why do I hear the men of today doing 3 tours in Iraq. That is no good.

If one is required to go more than once then that is just not right. No wonder the Iraqi Veterans are going crazy and end up homeless.

Once is too much. What are we doing sending our men and women half way around the world other than watching them die everyday? We have no business going to another country and killing it's women and childlren.

My father did 2 tours in 'Nam, so I have no idea what you are talking about with only 1 tour. My best friend has done 3 tours in Iraq and he is doing his job. Why dont you support the military instead of inciting people on this website.

My niece who is serving now in Germany, said they volunteer for Iraq. Great bonus money. She was not happy when she was sent to Germany VS Iraq. I'm not sure how long the tour is, but I believe it's pretty short in comparison to other overseas short tours.

I have a good friend who was over there for a year, and is going back for another one-year tour this fall.

Hey,,,, i don't know where you were in Viet Nam,,,, but I know plenty of brothers in arms that went several tours there.... just because you got drafted didn't mean you could not volunteer to go back.....

With the all volunteer service now,,, we have to have some stay in ,, like it or not... .but most are re-ups... that is the way to go up in rank....

good luck
