I know a lot of SAH moms and dads and people are always assuming they have nothing to do and they are always trying to dump their kids or ailing relatives on them.

I don't think stay at home parents are lazy. I have been a stay at home mom in the past and now I work outside the home. After my shift I know that I can leave work and forget about it till the next day, but when you are a stay at home parent it's 24-7. I don't think we give stay at home parents the credit they deserve, it's a tough job. For all those stay at home parents out there, good job and keep up the good work.

My wife is a "stay at home" parent. That is when she is home and not going to the university full time. She probably works 60-80 hours per week. I work 40-50 on a rough week. I was raised by a single parent (my mother) who had to work to support us. She kept an immaculate home and died at 50 or a stroke. I think any family that can somehow wangle a "stay at home parent" is lucky and blessed to be able to give their children this gift. My good thoughts and prayers go out to SAHPs everywhere!

I don't know about the people you know, but my aunt was a work at home mother for years and not only did she still take care of her children, she also took care of her nieces and nephews on a daily basis. My uncle is currently a stay at home dad, and I haven't seen a more hard working man.

The work of stay at home parents is hard & most unrecognized in this society. But those who sacrafice to do this, should be revered. They are molding little lives for the betterment & future goodness of society.

All of you people who think stay-at-home parents are lazy... you try it once in a while. You won't be thinking that way for very long.

no, they work as much. when the kids are small it takes so much to take care of them and the mess that they create takes hours to clean. i think that stay at home parents are really hard working.
