As in, is there something like a ritual, a chant, anything? I already tried asking God to forgive my sins and to give me my share of the holy spirit. I even tried telling God that he can do this at any time, preferably soon, as if it wasn't obvious that I was willing to accept christ as my saviour as soon as I learned of him and what he did for us anyway. But my life's not geting any better as so many claim it should, and I'm not getting any younger, either.

the only special thing you have to do to get forgiven is confess your sins and accept Jesus as you Lord and Savior. That is it. Your sins are forgiven and FORGOTTEN. God will never throw back in your face all the thing you have done. The reason things are getting worse is that a christian life is not easy. We will be tried by the spirit and our faith is tested. In the end it will strengthen you in God if you hang in there. Satan is a mean dude. he will hit you hard all the time, especially when you first get saved. He will try to tell you that God can't forgive that, He isn't listening to you, and He will bring up your past. If you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me.

You have just to be a good man and don't wait God to give you back your good actions.If you do something good just for receiving back something,it will never happen. "...and I'm not getting any younger,either." I don't get it,I mean what do you want from God?
I want to answer to someone above that God tries to save us only if we want it. That's why , my friend , He didn't save us from the beggining and sent His Son (when mankind has forgotten His words). I mean that in our religion we are free to decide if we want to be with God or not and that's the meaning of our life on Earth etc.

First, you can not expect God to Make everything all better after you ask for his forgiveness. things take time. In reading the answers you got on this i have to say you have to be very careful on what you choose to do. God Does not ask for your money to help you.
You should, however, ask for his forgiveness and vow to do everything possible to do as he wants for the rest of your life ( and do it) Tell him that you want to get to know him and you want to know the way to do that. Ask him to guide you. After all that, when ever you make a decision about something you need to keep him in mind. Ask yourself what he would do in that situation. Basically it's like a marriage. He becomes your best friend and if i recall best friends talk about everything and ask each other for advice about everything.
I would like you opinion about this statement,
Let me know how it goes and if anything weird happens in the near future.
Also, don't confess your sins to someone in a booth, confess them to God directly.

You won't get any younger, that is your misconception. As far as having to do anything, you really have to believe in the Great Spirit, and have sensible ideas of what he can and won't do. Asking him for youth ain't gonna happen. Letting him know you are over burdened, and that you need help, will.

go to church and speak to a priest in the confession booth. that should make you feel better. oh and about your life not getting any better, you have to make that change yourself. God cannot do it for you. you just have to be willing to let God guide you towards changing.

yes you have to know and to think very well why god would like to have a son... think about about that's it...
why he would creat us and send us on earth and then he send his son to save us... what is this logic... and why he would do it... he can save us from the begining and also he can save the humanity with out sacrifying his son!!! and is GOD like humans to have son... we are giving him humans properties...
