would like to inquire about ADHD testing. While my father was in the military, I was diagnosed at the age of six with ADHD and put on medication around 11 or 12. After my father discharged from the military, my medical records were lost. I am now seeking to reestablish the proper medical documentation of the diagnosis. What are the costs involved and time commitment to be retested? Any information you may provide would be greatly appreciated.

Have a reputable psychologist/psychiatrist perform an evaluation. There are many things that can mimic ADHD. It is a complex disorder.

I would contact the local learning disabilities office or an educational psychologist for testing. There is a battery of tests that are done and probably the definitive test is the CCPT (Connor's Continuous something test). The cost is several hundred dollars.

well, it will be a hard one to find since the government claims they lose information.

i do have a question for you....have you been tested for IBS?

IBS and ADHD are two seperate issues, but create the same problem.

In those with IBS, they lack an enzyme in the gut (the intestine) that helps regulate the serretonin in the brain.

You may just need something for the gut, not the brain!

you would have to go to your doctor. i would explain when you get there what happened and then they will probly test you for it. good luck. if not call the nurse at the doctors office and talk to her about it.
