Why didn't God give elephants an extra arm or two instead of making them use their trunk? Is it so elephants can eat their own boogers discreetly? Is this an example of Drunken Design?

What's so hard about balancing on five legs? You can balance on one leg can't you? As for being vulnerable to predators, is that why Centaurs are extinct or did they not make it onto the Ark?

Because... God didn't just invent them. Mammals all evolved from the same ancient animal, which happened to have four legs. That's why we ALL have four limbs. You don't just sprout new ones.

Mammals with 5 legs - the lack of symmetry is EVOLUTIONARILY disadvantageous
8 legs is symmetrical but, the biological costs of growing, maintaining, and supplying energy for that many limbs and Warming that many limbs would render the individual at a disadvantage. Then the sexual selection pressure against such an individual would have been enormous.

there is in all probability some guy in yet another universe questioning it may well be greater useful to have around planets extremely of the sq. planets in his universe. Like they say, the universes are consistently cooler on the different component of life. yet once you think of you're able to do greater useful why no longer basically create a universe people would surely decide for to work out? I wager you're transforming into a thriving tourist industry with the main suitable trip universe.

I don't know about drunken design, but I like to believe the Creator has a sense of humor. Otherwise he would have gotten tired of human beings long ago and moved on to something else with a little more depth. Maybe the Creator did jokingly add those extra appendages. Science and evolution supports that over time they would have just disappeared because they weren't needed -- like wisdom teeth.
