Simply by keeping an open mind. I asked myself where my ideas about god were coming from. Were they coming from within or was I being brainwashed by organized religion with an agenda all of it's own.
Over the course of my lifetime I have moved from being dependent and totally brainwashed by the cult of Christianity, to embracing non-denominational religion, to agnosticism, to atheism, to humanism, and ultimately to spiritualism. I try to embrace the best parts of world religions, primarily Buddhism and Hinduism, as well as Christian, Muslim and Jewish values. But I also recognize their incredible shortcomings.
The answers are found deep within, through meditation and life experience.
And always it is an eternal mystery, that we as humans cannot fully comprehend and as such there will always be more questions than answers.

I was introduced to God just like most people ,by our parents.
As a child I was punished if I didn`t say prayers or Questioned god`s existance. When I grew up I just went through the motions of believing but never saw any PROOF of a great and LIVING god.
Going through life all I saw were religious people being mean to others ,cheating on their spouses ,lying .stealing and abusing children and animals .WHERE THE F*CK IS GOD. ?
I never SAW him
I never HEARD him I wasn`t able to touch him .
I had no PROOF he was any more real than SANTA CLAUSE.
If money is the root of all evil,Why are most of the tele evangelists MILLIONARES ,
Why are Churches allowed to keep their finances SECRET and pay no Taxes.
WHY SHOULD I BELIEVE in A STORY.
Why does religion rely so much on getting MONEY if they are not EVIL.

The state of God's existence is unknowable. You can certainly *feel* God, but this tells you nothing much. I feel the Earth to be stable too, not spinning as it actually is.
In fact, if you knew tomorrow, what difference would it make? It has no implications on your life. You still couldn't know what God wanted or intended. There's no *real* information, just a lot of contradictory hooey written in Bibles, Korans, Avestas, Purunas, Guru Granth Grahib's and so on.

If you depend on authority to tell you what to believe, then you'll think there is a God. If you think it out for yourself, you will probably decide there is not. There are 1000s of religions in the world, and nearly all say all the rest are wrong. Why believe one and not another? If God is really all-powerful and actually loves us, why is the world so messed up? Hitler thought he was doing God's will, and so did the Taliban. They were SURE God was telling them what to do, and the results were horrific. If there were a God, he wouldn't play mind games with us, he'd just declare himself.

First of all there is that timeless problem of defining what God is. The second problem is using the bible to describe God. I was raised Catholic (ex- Catholic now) and we were taught that God was an “over glorified man” somewhere in the sky waiting to reward you or punish you, sending “angels” to watch over you (spy on you). Oddly enough, when you throw out all of the hogwash, folklore, and superstition, there is still something there. This “something” is vague and intangible. Sorry, but that is the best answer I can give.

I make up my mind that there is a God by the fact that I am not so arrogant as to think that a mere mortal could have created all the world's wonders, creatures, etc.
I also know that God exists when I look into the eyes of my 4 children.

Dear Multiple Choice the real question is do you believe in God or the spagetti monster. In the end all will answer to their maker. with so many false religions it is easy for one to get confused about what to believe. we aren't descendents of monkeys though some behave no better. To make up ones mind about what to believe falls solely on that individual. Try reading King James Bible and go to a Christian church near you or you can wait until you die and see where you go.

I was a practicing Christian for over 30 years, read the bible more than once and investigated the subject as a mature adult.
There is no credible evidence that supports God belief. And, the bible is a book of mythology. There is no reason to believe God exists.
Atheism is the only logical choice.

Are you asking how *I* make up my mind about God or how *you* can make up your mind about God?
Let me answer your question with regard to "I," not "you."
As for a, b, c, and d: I do not have an inability to know about the existence or nonexistence of God--I have the ability to know about the existence of God, in fact--and so the second half of your question is moot for me.
I do not "make up my mind" about God. God speaks to my soul, not my mind.
Yes, they are different. My intellect is a different thing from my soul.
How do I know this? There's the rub. It is through faith that I know such things. And without faith, one cannot know. Without faith, one can only know things in the intellectual realm. So any "information" I give you about faith sounds watery and ridiculous to your mind, if you are without faith.

You just believe what you feel is right. If you think that God isn't real then you can be a devil worshiper or just not believe in the devil or God. If you believe in God there are alot of diffarnt way to believe in him. I mean like religions.
