I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy 3 days ago, does anybody have problems with headaches or congestion with this from sinuses? Did you feel extremely worn out from it or would that be from something more virus or infection like running thru my system? Any info would be great.

had bell's palsy in my late teens - remember being treated with steroid tablets to help the temporary paralysis recover more speedily. Did not have any other symptoms, although it did start off with acute ear pain (well, just under the ear) and felt as though my head was going to explode!

Now 34 and still hate having photo's taken as it is still very noticable when i smile - eye closes more than the other one and mouth still slightly crooked. (don't think it's as noticiable in person - but could just be deluding myself :-) )

had bells palsy in my early 30's. never new I had it until I tried to eat something and the food fell out of my mouth. The symptons only lasted about a week and went back to normal. Never experienced any headaches or congestion from it. I still have some trouble with my left eye closing when I eat.

Yes, I had an aunt that had it some time ago.. As you know....Bell's palsy (facial palsy) is characterised by facial drooping on the affected half, due to malfunction of the facial nerve (VII cranial nerve), which controls the muscles of the face. Named after Scottish anatomist Charles Bell, who first described it, Bell's palsy is the most common acute mononeuropathy (disease involving only one nerve), and is the most common cause of acute facial nerve paralysis. The paralysis is of the infranuclear/lower motor neuron type.

From your description, I do not know if it is ONLY facial or just where it is.

Bell's palsy is a paralysis of one facial nerve so that the eye does not close, and the mouth cannot smile. The exact cause is difficult to assign, but it is thought to be due to inflammation of the salivary gland on the involved side pressing the nerve, and it is self limited. The other things you mention are not part of the disease.
