Since information is not a physical element (and as inormation is a fundamental constituent and an essential feature of all life) to assert that the universe is composed solely of matter and energy is undoubtedly wrong.
The speculated 'Big Bang' explosion is an accidental, purposeless and destructive event, with no informational component whatsoever.
As it is not possible for such a 'Big Bang' or any other undirected realease of energy to create useful information (or any sort of order) surely, it is patently obvious that this 'Big Bang' story of creation is erroneous nonsense.

DNA is not information, it is simply a code which carries information, like a language or writing in a book. Language is a code which can carry information, but only for someone who knows the code i.e. can speak the language. Information is non-material and has no mass. A computer disc loaded with information weighs no more than a blank disc. According to modern Information Theory information cannot originate by itself in matter. All information must originate from an intelligent source.

Yes, you have to remember no matter how many people accept something as true, it can still be wrong.

So long as you accept there are still a certain number of unknowns you can avoid the arrogance that assumes you are always right.

Can you imagine if people started running around trying to tell everyone what to believe based on these unproven tales.

CHAOS!

It's true that we don't know exactly how the universe began, but the big bang is only one theory. Your statement about information not being a physical element is somewhat flawed, though, as information in the form of DNA is encoded physical matter, as is information stored in brain cells.

The whole religious thing is very questionable too

Was there actually two people called Adam and Eve - I find this highly questionable.

To answer your point about information - information comes from things that happen and people's memory therefore information is stored inside the neurons in people's mind - This is matter and energy together.

Information is not a naturally occuring substance. We interpret everything as information, but physically it exists as electromagnetic waves, particle vibration, reflected or directed light, etc. It's an interesting hypothesis, but based on a faulty premise.
And Dae, thank you for the input. That's what I've been saying about religion for years.

I prefer to believe in the big bag theory for the start of the universe with it obeying the laws of physics etc. rather than some divine being creating it in six days.

Unfortunately I'm not smart enough to know the answer to something like this. I do know that I have questions myself & I've begun to research the different theories. I really want to understand, but it is a complex issue that delves not only into science but entire world views and religious beliefs. See below link for where I've begun to search for answers.

I personally love the theory.. God said "Let there be light" ..then....BANG.. Sounds right to me... But I guess you don't like what science is teaching about the origin of the Universe.. Jim
