Depends on if your in a boat or on the bank. Lake Olmstead and the Savanna river are the closest to down town. There is also a little spot with small bream between the canal and the river up stream from the powder works. It is up a dirt road and under some train trestles. It is a good place to take kids if you don't want anything big enough to eat. If you don't mind the drive Clark's Hill has lots of fish. Its usually better if you have a boat there. If you don't you can try striper fishing under the dam on the Carolina side. They have a nice fishing pier. Use a pearl fluke when the gates are open and cast into the eddies. Good luck.
