24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' 32 For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. 34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day

These verses reflect on the Christians pursuit of Holiness. The material part concerns the choice between God and earthly wealth. God is in charge of all the universe and even with this knowledge God elevates humanity as special in His sight.
So worrying and anxiety really does not solve anything in our human existence. Serving God is our sole purpose in all our earthly endeavors because our heavenly Father knows everything we need. However, He stills wants to hear from us personally.

Only means don't worry, be happy. For God will provide what you need.... as long as you're not the greedy type. No one can serve two masters is true. You can't be too engrossed with something and have the same level of focus and dedication with another. In the same sense - you cannot have a wife and a mistress at the same time unless you want trouble.

I think it means we need to focus more on the spiritual aspects of our lives and not be so concerned with the material. When we realize that God is the source of our supply, we do not have to needless worry about our incomes or ambitions. We can focus more on being spiritual and charitable to others.
This does not mean we should not try to earn a living or not have ambitions. Just that we need to remember that God is our provider and he will ensure that those who trust him have what they need.

To me the lesson here is to look at the big picture and the little things will take care of themselves.

If you live a righteous life and follow the teachings of the bible life will take care of itself and of you. Live by the Golden Rule.."do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

It is saying, if you are faithful to GOD and not worship other gods(material things) then GOD will provide for you just as HE provides for HIS other creatures on the earth.

This is the short answer.
