I know people really like AA. There is dual diagnosis that helps people with something called motivational interviewing. Google it. It can help people with anything. Like spending or gambling. Do not feel bad for whatever it is. It is an illness and not something that should be passed judgement upon. Google that and talk to a practioner. Someone free from judgement. If they do not work with you get a new one.

Add details on what kind of addiction you want to stop...

you posted your question under "Mental Illness",
are you addicted to prescribed medication?
If yes, do NOT stop taking medication
without asking your doctor,
you might not know it, but it is very dangerous for your life.

If you're addicted to something else,
you might not take my answer seriously,
but I'd seriously say,
Pray and ask Jesus to help you, and He will.

Best Wishes.

Try something new and different....get into real world situations with people....get on the dating networks or something and have a blast...(unless teh addiction you refer to is too much dating, in that case, go for an "ohm")
