How could you believe in God if you know there's more to learn? You're jumping the conclusion.

If there's more to learn, you couldn't possibly know that God created everything

how can you believe in future discoveries, that prove anything? past discoveries have not changed my mind, so why should I trust future discoveries. there has not been any discoveries that have proven that God did not create everything. so why should you suspect there will be any future one?

Usually, I find atheists to sound intelligent, but this is the second absurd question that I have seen from you in the last 15 minutes! If you keep this up you are going to give Atheists a bad name! Or is that your intent?

Try asking a question that makes sense.

BTW, just because we haven't found something, doesn't mean that God DIDN'T create it either...does it? How are you so sure that everything that we HAVE discovered was NOT created by God? Evolution could just be His divine Plan for creation on this planet. Do you presume to know the mind of God? If you are just waiting for definitive proof that God exists, then you are not an Atheist, you are an Agnostic.

No one is disregarding possible future discoveries. One cannot disregard what does not exist.

As for the substance of your question: You are under a misconception that evidence of God can be found by the five senses. No matter what comes to light in the future--what discoveries are made--they are going to be discoveries about the world--i.e., what is perceivable. They are not going to be discoveries about divine beings, as the divine lives on a plane that is unattainable by living humans, its being outside of time and space.

Unless humans find a way outside time and space. Which we ain't gonna.

One does not come to learn God through learning. One comes to know God through faith. While the realms are not mutually exclusive, they are extremely different.

Having faith in God is not a conclusion, and so I am not jumping to a conclusion, like you say. God is the Alpha and the Omega--he encompasses all, and always was, is, and will be.

Before answering your question, may I ask for an accurate clarification from the experts out there : "What is god?"

Someone told me he/she/it/they is/are very powerful (omnipotent), all-knowing and all-forgiving! Is this true?

Just wondering why the magic/miracles, by the supernatural being/s I read about as a young boy, never seem to happen again to stop Man from murdering Man (women & children included) in the millions, all these hundreds of years - from the time of the religious wars in the 1500s, the world wars, the Middle-east wars, the sectarian/racial "ethnic cleansing" murders, the wars waged by the terrorists etc.Not to mention the natural disasters that kill millions every now and then. I suppose the supernatural power/s has/have its/their reason/s for not performing just another single magic act!

Anyway, I notice that when the word "god" is used in a question, the majority of answers are from Christians. Curious as to why this is so! Don't forget there are hundreds of other religions on planet Earth (ref: www.omsakthi.org/religions.html).

I hope the all-forgiving supernatural power/s will pardon me for saying anything wrong in this answer to the above question.

So far, all the scientific discoveries go hand in hand with creation, so I think the real question is, what are you going to do when science has no more answers, just more questions? Are you gonna run around saying "all hail the big bang from nothingness"? Will that be your religion, or is it already? I assume you do understand how illogical that is, right? Way more illogical than "God created". Everything must have a beginning, the big bang from nothiningness has no beginning, therefore is irrational.

Just because I believe in God doesn't mean that I am not open to learning more. I believe that the possibilities of God / Life are limitless and are far beyond our comprehension. But we are learning more and more each day through our scientists which is good, and I have seen nothing which discounts the existence of God. Not one iota. It is you who are jumping the conclusion my friend.

I think we have two levels of existence here. One is of god, which is energy. another is human which has mind, body. The energy is the essential part of human existence. It does not prevent you from doing or experiencing anything. Nor does it interfere with your freedom of whatsoever. It is when the human in a mind body longs to experience his reality as an energy form, does the work of Real Religion begins. That's why Jesus calls god as Father. Not as a physical father, but as a source of energy from where he is born. That is also what Jesus calls to be born again.
It means, after having experienced our lives as a human body-mind form, when you experience the energy form, You feel as if your body-mind is dying. It is not the death of your body, but an experience of separation from the body mind. And you are blissfully alive even after that experience. That is the state of ChristHood, or Enlightenment. And Every person on earth is entitled to have this experience.
That's what the real religion is. All else is nonsense.

How can you say that? We haven't discovered 1 millionth of a percent of all the things that God has made or done. Why would you think that believers don't think that there's still more to learn.

(Learned something...didn't you!?)

AH, but since there is SO MUCH to still learn, then aren't you JUMPING to conclusions if you say there is no God? You can't possibly KNOW that God (whatever you perceive him/her/it to be) did NOT create everything.

Anyone who trusts in faith cannot deal with reality. Faith does not allow one to accept the prospect of being wrong. It only perpetuates myths through defensiveness, rationalization, and fear. The concept of god is a way of perpetuating mind control and separating people from their money and from making rational decisions affecting their lives.
"Religion is the opium of the people." A truer statement has never been uttered.
