Hello!

I am having my wedding dress altered by a proffessional seamstress and just found out that her husband smokes! It's too late to take my dress out of her house, but I will get it back two weeks before the wedding.

How can I remove the smoke smell that might linger in the dress? I wash it (it will only be steamed), but is there a way I can get rid of the smell completely! Please help!!!

Thanks! :o)

Turn your dress inside out and lightly mist your dress with Febreeze.
The only real way to get the smell out completely is to take it to a professional dry cleaner for over $100.00.

This woman is sooooooo wrong for doing this to you!

Air the dress; not in the sun. Then place baking soda in the dress bag. Change it as the soda absorbs the smell. You could also hang the dress on the bathroom door when you shower. Steam can help. too.

Airing it out is the best thing. Try that first, it is the easiest and the safest thing to try. Did you say the dress is washable? If so that should take it out completely. Do not cover it in plastic.

That woman is terribly wrong for letting her husband smoke around your dress.

Best wishes on your wedding.

Fa breeze works good. Or u can use oust. I know it is supposed to clean the air but it does work good. My boyfriend smokes and i put the oust on the bed sheet and it smells like flowers instead of smoke:)
