death?!- why would they have to die?- I had jaundice when I was born, and was put under a lamp.

Jaundice can be very dangerous but I'm not sure what you are asking here. Jaundice can cause brain damage, may have to have a blood transplant (not transfusion) all new blood, but this all depends on your bilirubin numbers. Talk to your doctor.

Jaundice does not necessarily mean death!
You need to ask her doctor, not a bunch of Yahoos. You are probably worrying about something that isn't going to happen.
