The first thing I should point out is :a man does not turns pedophile at the age of 54 as almost every non-muslim is claiming about Prophet Mohammad PBUH

Second thing is, to all those who are practical in life, they must have come across people who at the age of 50, have the maturity of a teenager. N I have come across people who matured in mind faster than in body ( I even read an article sometime ago on a boy who by the age of 9 had shouldered the responsibility of 5-8 siblings and a drunken mother). By the way, it is a scientific fact that woman mature faster then men especially in countries with a hot climate. So the possibility that the Aisha by the age of 9 could be matured physically at the least can be proven by scientific data.

Many parents even in this century even in countries like America and Europe do not take their children seriously. Instead, the teenager of today have a score of boyfriends and girlfriends and they have sex with whoever they want and then comes un

unwanted children and a lot of complications. Even if these complications do not arise, teenagers often turn out brats and drop out of school. Very few go to college with their ambition and their will. Sometimes, the case (as in Asia) seems to be that the teenager is often forced to study by their parents.

When Prophet Mohammad married a girl so young, it could also like telling the Muslim population at large that children and their upbringing should be taken seriously as they can make decisions for themselves at a very young age. This was later proved true when Hazrat Aisha adviced the Khalifas as young as the age of 18-20 (when she was widowed). In today’s world, a teenager as young as that can only think of shopping, their girl/boy friend, their sex life, ways how to escape their parents and live on their own and other unnecessary things. Few have any good ambitions or goals set out.

I can see that you still are not convinced.

Considering Mohammad was a pedophile, why were the rest of his wives widowed and in the case of Hazrat Zainab bint Jash a divorced woman??? His first wife, Hazrat Khadija was a widow 2 times over and older to him by 15 yrs. It was she who proposed and he accepted it when he was 25. His second wife, Hazrat Sawdah was a widow and older than him too.
N Mohammad is still accused of being a pedophile.

If Mohammad was a pedophile, why weren’t all his wives young beautiful virgins? Why only one??

Considering the accusation that Hazrat Aisha was molested continuously by Prophet when she was a child, she should have suffered (by all scientific facts and reason) a sever mental setback resulting in almost madness. But it didn’t. Instead, Imam Zuhri who was a leading jurist at the time quotes :

“Hazrat Aisha was the most learned person among the people. Senior and learned companions used to consult her”

“If the knowledge of all men and the wives of the Prophet PBUH were put together, the knowledge of Hazrat Aisha would exceed it all”

Similar quotations are many to be found such as by Abu Musa Ashari and Umar bin Zubair. There is not enough space to quote it heere

IF Mohammad molested his young wife, why did she sang praised of him in his life and death??????

Even William Muir who is one of the staunchest critics of Islam quotes in his book The Life of Mahomet

“About the same time he contracted a second marriage with Ayesha, the young daughter of Abu Bakr – a connection mainly designed to cement the attachment with his bosom-friends. The yet undeveloped charms of Ayesha could hardly have swayed the heart of Mahomet”

With the evidence above, it is illogical to say that Mohammad was a pedophile mainly on the reasons that he had so many wives and that one of his wives was 9 yr old.

Angel Gabriel showed Prophet Mohammad Hazrat Aisha's pict before she was born.
The nikah cermony was performed at the age of 6
She was wed to Prophet Mohammad at the age of 9
She was a widow by the age 18.

Authorities seem to differ to the facts stated above but these are the facts most accepted.

From what I understand, the marriage was to cement an alliance between the families. This was a custom at the time. Also, Mohammad did not touch Aisha while she was still a child. Some accounts say she was older when they married. Mohammad had many wives, and he did a great thing here. Widows were outcasts, as they had no husband-and, possibly no son- to care for them. These women, he married, to show that they were worthy of consideration to become another man's wife. He opened a life for widows and their place in society. Do not judge him on just Aisha. Customs very very different then and you cannot judge them by today's standards.

There is a world of difference in a older sibling taking care of their
younger brothers and sisters in a extreme situation as you said
above than a Grown man molesting a minor girl that has no choice.
That is child abuse.who are you kidding?

Are you trying to prove us he wasn't a paedophilus only because other wives were not as young?

Well i think you should find some other reason. In actual fact humans change as time goes....more specifically, men tend to like older women when they are young and younger women when they get older, let's say from 45 on.....
Normally this fact doesn't causes troubles as common sense and moral boundaries limit the age difference to 10/15 years.....but when this doesn't happen you have excesses.....
Hence, the case of a man who decides to marry or have a sex with a 6/9 years old girl doesn't sound any normal.
The only form of defense you can attempt here is that at that age the same concept of Paedophilia wasn't known and that probably the habit of "picking unripe cherries" for older men was a habit raher than an exception. So, that would mean it was a "socially accepted and recognized" habit for that age, which would partially defend Mohammad from any allegation of being a paedophilus..

Provided nowadays parents, especially in some countries, consider kids like a Launch and forget thing...(i.e. they deliver them and pay for their needs and that's it....they think they have solved the problem), leading the kids to have sex and/or pregnancies at a very early age, the case of Mohammed is still different. One thing is sex amongst people of the same age, regardless of their age (the younger they are, the more the responsibility falls on the parents), while another thing is sex between an over 50 man and a 9YO girl.
For nowadays standards he sounds pretty pervert and insane....as a matter of fact..you only need to wonder what can you talk about with a 9YO at the age of over 50 and what kind of sexual life you may have with a girl of that age....If that's not enough and without any offense...try to imagine that girl was your daughter and you'll understand how serious it gets!
Ciao

Okay from my perspective:

Men can marry women of any age and still be pedophiles. Who you marry and who you want to have sex with can be two very different things. The 'maturity' of the parties are not an issue; a nine-year-old is a physical and emotional child no matter how intelligent, responsible and 'mature'.

Marrying someone does not necessarily mean the marriage was consummated, either from the Prophet's lack of interest in prepubescent girls, or from his impotence, as he was, after all, 54. The claims you make for her learning and general intelligence do argue that she was not molested, which suggest the contracted marriage was not consummated.

Given that marriage is primarily a contractural relationship and the youth of the bride in this case, I would argue the marriage was not consummated; to do so would have been a violation of the personal trust evidently between them.

some people say Hazrat Ayesha was 12 at the time of marrige...

Anyway, she was so young even it was quoted that once Holy Prophet PBUH came and she was playing with her female friends. And when Hazrat Muhammab PBUH came they shattered and hide, Hazrat Muhammad smiled and said them to continue their play

Its a veru sensitive thing i dont want to comment on that but

Great research by you i appericiate !

I spoke to an imam about this question and he said that he agreed to marry Aisha when she was 9, but did not do so until she matured into a woman. what is the truth?

Get your facts straight. He married her in an arranged marriage when she was 6, but being the nice guy he was, he waited untiil she was 9 to have sex with her. An no, 9-year old girls are not mature, they haven't even hit puberty yet. Every generation matures earlier than the one before, so in reality, she was probably more childlike than 9-year olds of today. Obviously, you don't have kids or you'd realize 9-year olds are not teenagers. I've seen some blatant nonsense with people trying to justify his pedophilia, but you take the cake.

I pray that cassandra has it right and that it isn ot the way you are depicting it that would be gross by any human standards. I feltill while I read your question/statement. I felt somewhat relieved when I read cassandras response. I know nothing of mohammed but if what you wrote were 100% truth I would not want to any of him at all. I would consider him vile and pray for God to deal with him.

my son has been studing mohammed and islam. i would suggest you stop trying to prove it was okay that she was 9 and focus on the facts. mohammed married her in contractual terms. it was a blending of his family and her family, as he was a mighty leader at that point. she immediately went home with her father and didn't come to mohammed as his wife in the way we think of it until she was nearly 20.

so, please, stop pretending having sex with 9 year olds is okay or different. mohammed just didn't do it.
