Accupuncture. Try natural muscle relaxants/pain killers that are non-addictive. Such as Formula 303 or valerian root; palmeino; bromelain, etc.
When severe pain, ice for 20 min, heat for 20 then repeat.
Lastly, get a second opinion. If you back pain is too intense and severe = limiting ability and ease of living then another doctor or two may have a better solution. It doesn't sound like Chiropractor work will help at all.

Good luck, I hope you don't have to suffer for too long.

if you have a severe injury in your back as you say, you need to have some relief like a strong pain med. its not illegial for a dr. to stop your meds. have you recently told him you have felt better? or you dont take the reccomended dose he prescribed? thats the only 2 reasons i can think of to get your meds stopped. your dr is right tho on the back surgery, its very risky and its 50/50 you will become paralyzed you are off your back for 6 months or more and you will have so much pain meds you will become addicted.if you are not hapy with your dr's decision to stop your pain meds see a different dr. get a second opinion. not all dr's agree on the same subject or how a diagnosis should be treated. good luck in your situation

You could ask your doctor to send you to a pain management clinic. That could help, depending on how good the center is. If you don't like what your physician is doing maybe you should consider finding another one. There are doctors, like mine, who don't want their patients on pain pills and others, like the one my half sister goes to, who hand them out like candy.

Are you okay? I could barely make heads or tails out of your post. Are you nervous, strung out, or just not too swift?
