Sorry I couldnt let this slide. While I do not think all Muslims are terrorist or murderers by any means i would have to question scripture that tells its followers to kill non believers. For the young lady who said it doesnt maybe you should read the Koran.

Here is an excerpt for you conderning "unbelievers"

"so that Allah should bring about His command; surely Allah has power over all things.
[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out"

i admit i am not an expert on this subject, i have however spoken with muslims and discussed the issue with them, they admit that extremist are taught that to kill an unbeliever is to guarantee a place along side allah, this text and others like it are taken in the literal sense as a license to kill.

i have nothing against muslims and believe that most are just trying to live a peaceful life i have been among them in their own countries and the majoriety have been good people.

Yes, it teaches murder and hatred for them to denounce and kill all nonbelievers. The passage you reference is used especially by Hamas and Hezbollah in an effort to have Moslems rise up against Israel, since Palestine blames the Jews for Moses' group inhabiting Israel, driving out the then-called Phillistines.

No it doesn't teach to murder.

As far as your quoting it is taken out of context I think before you copy and paste from a anti-islamic site you should first read the Holy Quran (that will be smart idea).

I don't want to be rude to you but I would like you to be open minded before you judge any thing. How will you fell if i say something totally false about your love one without even investigating it first?

I think you need to read and assess the whole surah and not just a certain sentence.
The ayat before this statement says (2.190) Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not commit aggression. Indeed, Allah does not like aggressors. and then it says the above sentence (2.191) and then after that it says (2.192) and if they cease, then cease then indeed Allah is forgivimg and merciful.

Meaning fight and kill whoever fights and tries to kill you but do not commit aggresion( have a look what the word aggresion means) but if they stop trying to fight and kill you then stop.
and remember the important bit .
Allah does not like aggressors.
Also i think you need to read on, because you will find Allah saying, but if you show them mercy it will be better for you to show them mercy.
Also the Quran says killing an innocent life, just one, is as if you killed the whole of mankind.
So please dont just read one sentence and make assumptions read the whole surah( chapter) or even better the whole Quran and then maybe you will understand it a little bit better.
Remember every religion has its extremists, so please dont judge or paint Islam with a few bad actions of people who say they are Muslims. Visit www.Islamtomorrow.com for better answers on any questions you have relating to Islam for i a mere convert to Islam from Christianity and would not like to say that i know enough to give educated answers, i have just give you a few quotes out of the Quran.
I like the fact that you are questioning and if you keep searching all of the answers will come to you.
May the almighty God have mercy on us all and guide us to the straight path/ the right way.

lol...where did you find this....and fair enough if you did....but have you read it all....no ppint in nit picking a litle verse...and let me tell you something...if THIS is correcct and it did say tis or anything like this in the quran....this controlled media would be the first to pick it out and exploit it....rather than you finding it and getting abit excited....
islam teaches peace and also to respect the jewws and chrtisians as they came before muslims.so we respect them...yet they dont respect us......less than a percent of muslims are fundamentlasists....yet by showing a few faces on cnn for 24 hours anyone would belive that all muslims are like that....
alot of shootings and people have been killed who were innocent but a big hoo haa was made at the time that they were terrosits when they didnt turn out to be...so nowadays it doesnt mean all muslims are doing it, it means the plice are only gonna deliberatly pick on muslims and broadcast it to the media so that everyone gets it into their heads that all muslims are doing it...when indeed they are not...
also
the JEWS HATED WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM DURING HOLOCAUST...AND NOW THEY SEEM TO HAVE FRGOTTEN THAT AND from the oppresed and have become the oppresor

it's not only koran. the (christian) bible also contains the word "kill" and "murder". here's the funny thing though [if ur'e not christian, sorry]:

after god gave moses the 10 commandments, and when they got to the "city with a big wall", why the israelites kill all the people within the city? the men, the women. the young, the old? it's like breaking the rules of their own god [or probably god breaks his own rules?]

we, human, regardless of religion, are pretty much the same actually. just the level of "courage" and the fanatics that differentiate us.

ever hear of taking things out of context:

The Background:

Th verse is reffering to the battle of Badr the first battle in the history of the Muslims. It was provoked by the Muslims, trying to get back at the people of Quraish for torturing them and taking their property, by raiding a caravan bound to mecca. The meccans came to destroy them with 1000 men against 300 Muslims. The Muslims won the battle and Islam started to thrive from that point on.

The verses are as follows:

Sura2: verse 190:
Fight in the way of Allah only those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed Allah does not like Transgressors.

Sura2: Verse 191:
And kill them wherever you see them and expel them from wherever they expelled you, and fitnah* is worst then killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid Al-Haram until they fight you there. But if they figth you, kill them, such is the recompense. of the disbelievers.

Sura2: Verse 192:
And if they cease then indeed Allah is forgiving and merciful.

Sura2: Verse 193:
Fight them until there is no more fitnah*and until riligion [i.e. worship] is [acknowledged to be] for Allah. But if they cease then there is to be no aggression [i.e. assault] except against the oppressors.

Sura2: Verse 194:
Fighting in the sacred month is not allowed and for those of you who violate, strict retributions will fall upon you. So whoever assaults you in the months then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allah and that Allah is with those who fear him.

*Among the meanings of fitnah are, disbelief, discord, dissension, civil strive, persectution, oppression, injustice, seduction, trial and torment.
here it speaks about the non-believers tormenting and oppressing the believers.

I'm glad someone pointed that out , it's about time that people know how corrupt the quran really is . It is false doctrine and was written to lead man away from the truth . John 14:6 God bless you

I have read through the koran several times, while it does mention it, NO, it does not teach murder, and the only ones who believe they should murder people are the muslim extremeists.

Think on this: don't we have nuts too; how about the American "Jim" someboy who killed all those religious American radicals in Guayana? And the Waco incident? Extreme radicals are worldwide! And yes, this belongs in a different section.
