My brother-in-law is allergic to the sun and always gets an intensely itchy rash after being outside. He likes to play softball so this is a real problem for him. And he is kind of a big guy so he can't cover up his skin cause he gets too hot. He says that he gets great relief from using 1% cortisone cream. There are 2 kinds of generic anti-itch cream that you can get from Walmart. One contains benadryl and the other contains cortisone. You might try both to see which gives you the best relief. Also - I found relief when I had poison ivy by soaking in a cool bath tub with Aveeno Oatmeal Bath (Walmart also has a generic version of this). Stay in as long as you can - until the water is too cold. Keep your skin as cool as possible. I learned the hard way that you can get temporary itch relief from very hot water - BUT it triggers a rebound of itching by stimulating your body to send more histamine containing cells to the site of the rash.
If you cannot afford these creams or the oatmeal bath stuff - you could try putting oatmeal in the tub - or just take a cool bath or shower and keep as cool as possible.

actually sunscreen would be a no-no. i would follow up with the doc to see what is causing this rash, it could be internal, such as the liver or kidneys.

some of those who have certain diseases cannot go out in the sun.

to be sure, do not try anything suggested on this site unless you clear it with the doc first as any of it could be toxic IF it is something internal.

remember, everything we eat, drink, breath and apply to our skin is processed by the liver.

good luck!

You need to see a doctor, a public clinic or hospital. This is not something to wait on. It could be something minor, or it could be something as bad as xeroderma pigmentosa, in the mean time stay away from the sun and if you have to go out put on plenty of sun screen SPF 20 or greater.

You have an allergy to the sun apparently. Try applying sun blockers before going out and see if that helps.
