If you are asking the gestation period - (meaning from time of mating to time of whelp), that's approximately 63 days. You can begin taking your dog's temperature a few days before that and when you see a significant drop in temperature (from 101 to around 98) you can expect birth to come within 24 hours, usually.
If you are asking how long it takes from the time she comes into labor to the time the last puppy is born, well, of course that depends on how many puppies she has, her physical health at the time and whether she suffers any sort of complications. She will begin panting and seeming quite uncomfortable (maybe pacing, or doing nesting type behaviors like pulling a blanket through her front legs or shredding newspaper) and depending upon her age and other health reasons, she will whelp probably within 2-10 hours from that time. But, that's not always the case. She may have puppies within 30-45 minutes of each other, then there could be a couple of hours between puppies. The best thing is to have a good relationship with a veterinarian that can be on call for you to contact when the female begins labor.

59 to 64 days. Once they go into active labor if you don't see a pup within 30 minutes of pushing pack her up and head to the vet. Especially if she is a small breed dog.

What do you mean? Like from the time the first puppy comes out, to the last puppy? Or do you mean from conception to birth?
