Hello everyone!

I need to buy about 250 wine glasses (aka flutes, toasting glasses, etc.) for our guests. Ideally, I would like to get glass to go with our china, but maybe acrylic or regular plastic would work since they'll only be used for a short period of our time (only for the toast).

Can you please recommend a place I can get them inexpensive? Maybe online? I am a little desperate because we only have 3 weeks left for the wedding and I still don't have them!

Thanks a lot! :o)

Personally, I'd just rent them from a rental center or through a caterer. You can buy them at a place like Mikasa Outlets (Park Lane is a beautiful pattern), but even then you're looking at $5/flute. That's a huge expense and I'm not sure how often you'll have need of 250 crystal wine glasses.

If you want just enough to go with your china, get the crystal for the wedding party and plastic ones from a party supply store for the rest.

I agree with the other posters that you are better off renting this number of glasses. Not sure where you are, but every town has a party rental place - I believe you don't even have to wash them upon return, just have some repack into the glass boxes.

If you want to buy some glasses for after the wedding for parties (we have about 50-75 of each of these---we don't like paper/plastic at aLL), recommend you go to a place like WalMart or Big Lots (if you live in the USA) - they are plain and good prices and in teh end you save. Also, look around for outlet malls - Ikea.

Good luck and have fun at your wedding. No panicking. If you can't find your rental glasses - just go with plastic nice ones - but don't sweat this is small compared to the rest of your life - ENJOY your special day!

Renting makes sense since you're only going to use them for a day, but maybe if you somehow personalize them and give them away as a favor, that would be nice too!

I don't know if there are any IKEAs around you, but they have standard champagne flutes at decently cheap prices. I've never bought them, but their wine glasses I bought at 12 for like 4.99!

Firstly, where are you... you could try renting.. makes way more sense.. do a google, type in your town ie Toronto glass rental.

You should find a catering firm or banquet supply house willing to rent.

when i got married i rented flute glasses from my locale party store.
it was not that pricy and it was definatly worth it. they delivered them, picked them up, and i didnt have to purchase them. what would i do with all those glasses. call your locale party stores they will be worth it.
