I don't eat any meal that has more than 400 calories that that way I have 300 calories to play with for snack meals. But don't eat more than 1500 calories in a day. I eat skin less chicken brests ( 100 cal ), cat fish ( 100 cal ), Shrimp, veggies, president wedged cheese, saralee bagels, miracle whip light, saralee 45 cal bread, 100 cal a cup cereal, milk wing down to two percent then one percent, turkey and ham lunch meat, and two percent cheeses, no sugar pudding, 35 cal fudge sickles. no sugar diet drinks and plenty of water. There are lots of things you can eat just watch the calories and portions and you will lose weight. I have and I still am loosing. I was 178 pounds and now I am 140 pounds. So do this and good luck.

Atkins works great for the short term, but the health risks are just not worth it and everyone I know that tried it couldn't stick to a pure Atkins diet for very long. The best way to lose weight is eating well-balanced meal and exercising. It is the only healthy way to lose weight and keep it off. You don't even have to eat any of the lowfat/no fat junk.

Simple steps to losing weight:

1. Aerobic exercise at least 4 times per week - this can be walks, aerobic classes, jogging, swimming - get that heart rate up.

2. Eat right - stay away from processed foods, fast foods, etc. If you eat fresh, it's better for you. Cut down your portion sizes - dish your plate up as you normally would, then take 1/2 of everything and put it on another plate or just use a salad plate. Make sure your fruit and/or veggie portion of your meal is larger than your meat portion.

When you go to the hit the produce section, meat dept, pasta/rice aisle and dairy aisle - no need to go anywhere else for food. Always get whole grains when you can - Brown Rice, Whole Wheat Bread, Whole Wheat Pasta.

There really is no secret to weight loss. It just takes the willpower to exercise and eat healthy.

Atkins is a very very good "SHORTTERM" diet.
Its good shortterm, because of exactly what it does.
But for that very reason, its not a good longterm (> 12mths) diet.
(its actually a unhealthy longterm - because as soon as u get off it u will gain back).

The best overall way to lose weight is the old classic.

Lifestyle changes:
Eat right - no junk food (or at least the healthy choices).
No pop - or at 1st reduce
Portion control ...dont eat at 16oz steak when a 4onc will do.
Exercise - All I ever do is walk or swim.

I love almonds so I actually eat a decent amt of unsalted almonds.

Oh, very little if any butter, salad dressing...and and as little salt as I can get away from (buy lower sodium product).

We all get more than we should on salt, sugar, and dont need to add it to our food.. (in fact u can add other items to get the salty or suguar taste instead).

I use lemon or even juice instead of sugar.
And I never add salt to any food I eat.

Btw, when I started this lifestyle, I lost 150 pds and kept it off for years.

Only medical problems have caused me to gain back some of it.
Of which lifestyle is helping me get it back off.

Atkins isn't that helpful. None of the diets are. Especially the well known ones because they all tell you the same thing.Eat healthy and excercise. Thats basically all you need to know in the the world of Dieting.

the Atkins diet worked for me-in the short term. Diets like that work not because any certain foodgroup is "bad", but because eliminating it from the diet entirely really cuts down on the amount of calories you take in. And, that's what weight loss really boils down to, burning more calories than you take in. Eat a diet high in fiber, lots of vegetables, and a moderate amount of protein. Don't deny yourself the occasional treat, or you'll just go crazy and binge later. AND.....drink lots of WATER!!!! Good Luck!!!!

I believe there are different diets for different body types. Atkins didn't work for me but counting calories did. As always combining exercise is the best for your health remember that you may gain weight with exercise as muscle weighs more but you will see a difference in your clothing size. Good luck.

Hi
I would not suggest any crash dieting as it could have some side effects instead try this plan ,it worked for me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

Good luck

Co-workers seem to lose weight with weight-watchers, but just like any other, you have to stick with it.

Besides eating right (has already been explained in previous answers), it's also very important to drink water. Not to feel full, so you will eat less, but to metabolize your fat.

Read this link, it was very helpfull for my husband and me. Finally we know why it's important to drink a lot of water when you want to lose weight. It makes it much easier for me to gulp down those 8 glasses a day.

the best way is to do it the right way...
excersise and cut down on fatty foods... no salt or sugar
eat healthy... say wheat bread...lots of vegatables and fruits... try eating only poultry... turkeys a good way to go... if that dosnt owrk just eat alot of salad but if ur also going to be excercising than u want to get a lot of carbs too... so lots of carbs but noo Fats and start off slow but if u wanna loose wieght fast eventually start on vigorous excercise!

Add cooked whole grains into a salad to increase the dietary fiber and protein and make the meal feel as pleasing.
