I think this is a great idea because while it promotes a bond between the parents and their homeless child, it means one less carboard box polluting the alleys. Don't parents love their children anymore to take them in? Enough to give them some soap and a shower? And some money to buy themselves a meal at McDonald's?

(And no, I do not live with my parents.)

Of course I realise you post is in jest, but many homeless are grown and even old men and women, and many have homes with relitivies or family they can move into. And all of them have shelters they could go to and stay at if they wanted.

While of all of course, but having worked with the homeless and the street people of Atlanta for over 5 years, the majority don't want to live anywhere because they don't want rules.

Most recieve some money from disability (SSI) or some small amount of welfare using an address of a shelter for a mailing address. Some were actually from wealthy families who put a small amount of money for them into a ATM account each month. No two stories are the same.

But what is the same for most will not stay at a shelter becuase they require them to bathe and to not drink or use drugs. ( some dont allow smoking either) So many if not most of the street people would rather stay on the street than go to one of the shelters. Also many don't want to go to far from thier "spot" many have a place where they prefer to panhandle. I know a few that make over 300 dollars a day just standing on the side of the road at an off ramp with a small sign saying need food.. While most don't make that much of course most make much more than a person working for min wage would make and don't have any taxes to pay.

hey dude most homeless people have no family and the few that do cant expect there family to take on the burden of them for being losers at the game of life it just would not be very American for people to be forced to live some where by the police further more stay out of the alleys and the cardboard boxes will not bother you and if you live in big city's like NY you really should not be in alleys any way

Oh sure, just another use of parents. Why don't the homeless find work and turn there lives around. The people that raised them cared for them and tought them how to live should see fruits from there labor. Not an injunction forcing them to support some one who has given up. Why don't you buy a McDonald's and feed them all.

probaby because the parents dont want them and because they would probably want to run away then ever have to take care of there poor miserable excuse for a child, (no offence, but this is how some people feel about it) either that or the parents live in the card board box with them doing drugs or somthing along those lines.

a baby's needs won't be ready to be met in a guard. that isn't a secure ecosystem to strengthen a baby. The discern isn't unavoidably no longer able to strengthen a baby if that's what you propose via no longer worth, yet their circumstances are no longer in good shape for a baby.

What if the parents don't want their kids? Most parents of homeless children are into drugs and other activities. Why send them somewhere they won't be taken care of.

have you ever actually seen a homeless person in a cardboard box? there are many reasons why these people are homeless and their parents will not have them in their homes: theft, lying, mental illness, drug/alcohol problems...be serious.
