You shouldn't worry about an artificial number on a scale! That can fluctuate widely depending on how much water you drink. Go by how your clothes fit and how you look. Find an exercise that you like! Play volleyball or do something fun - it doesn't have to be marching on a treadmill for an hour. Exercise is very important for your metabolism and the health of your heart, arteries and other systems!! If you do some light muscle building exercises three times a week, you can eat more food without gaining fat.

Oh good lord!! First of all you're fine. 5'5 and 116 pounds is a great ratio. Why the hell do you want to lose weight. Also, you're only 15. If you start playing the weight game now you're stuck for life. It is a terrible cycle and by the time you're 20 you'll find that you actually weight mroe than you should because you spent your teen yours obsessing and yo-yo dieting.
AND--what the hell is wrong with people? Why is skinny better than being healthy. Why does everyone insist on taking short cuts and refusing to work for what they want. Exercise is a GOOD thing. If you're too damn lazy to exercise then go ahead and starve yourself. You'll either die or find yourself fatter this time next year. Good luck with that.

you are not fat and being 5'5 and 116lbs, you are still under weight. You will not look good, believe me I was there. I am 5'3 and when I got married I weighed only 89lbs. I could not find anything to fit me, people made fun of me, it was not fun. Your body probably is at a plateau and you will not lose any more weight you are perfect the way you are trust me. Just a little info....I am now still 5'3" but I weight 179lbs. Please just stay the way you are, eventually your body will lose and then you will gain back the lost weight and more,it is a losing battle. Trust me..

The best way to loose weight is to exercise and incorporate a meal plan. One without the other will not be as effective so try this...
You wanna eat six small meals a day, in smaller portions, 2-3 hours apart. You want to do this because if you do one of three things below, your body goes into what is called "starvation" mode and stores calories as fat for a precaution:
1. Severly limit calories
2. Overeat
3. Go too long in between meals.
When you limit calories your body takes this as a sign that it may be it's last meal for a while, and it stores the little calories that you've taken in and stores them up for survival.
The same thing happens when you overeat. Your body takes this as a sign that you're overeating because it could be your last meal for a while, so it again stores calories as fat as a precaustion.
Same thing goes for going too long in between meals. Your body then goes into starvation mode and stores the little calories you have as fat to survive... What you wanna do is plan out meals and snacks everyday or the night before so that you make sure you have six planned meals. Eat them 2-3 hours apart and this will definitly help.

Wow, that is too thin.
If you really want to do it--sorry--excercise. It's the best way without risking illness and making your body sad. It also builds muscle mass so you can look toned and healthy while being too thin. That's a plus, I guess. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat so if you DO decide to do the right thing and excercise, don't be panicked if you actually gain weight. For someone 5'5" a healthy weight is 130.

You do not need to lose weight. Dieting at 15 is not a good idea unless you are overweight. It may affect your physical development. Please just eat well and maybe take up a sport or walk more.
