I dropped my 20 dollar bill into a Public toilet and by instinct my hand dove in. Im scared now that I may have caught HIV? I dont know who used it before me and how long. The water was clear looking though. I dont think I had any significant cuts on my hand either.
Should I be concerned?

Yes I washed my hands after >< I wasnt visibly bleeding. But you know fingers hanve a bit of peeled skin here and there.

You need to be more educated on HIV and its transmission....
But no, you can not get HIV this way.
Not just worried about disease, but you should have def. washed your hands thoroughly. The $20 you dove in the toilet for prob. had more "nastiestness " :) on it than the toilet water!

Dang!!! Look at it this way....hopefully it was a flushed toilet and there was clean water in the bowl. You cannot get HIV that way. I am assuming you washed your hands thoroughly afterward. About the money, I knew someone who microwaved money once thinking the high temps would kill anything living on the bill....not sure if it worked but seems like a good idea. Good luck.

No, you do not have to be concerned...
You cannot get HIV from a urinal.. the only way you can get HIV is by exchanging bodily fluids during sex, or by using a contaminated needle to shoot up drugs that has already been used by someone else that has aids..in some cases people have been exposed to HIV in hospitals by receiving blood that wasn't screened properly and had the HIV virus in it , today, there are better blood screening methods

HIV doesn't live in Tap Water. If it did they we wouldn't be able to wash dishes by hand. If it did then you would be able to get it BY washing your hands. HIV is only contracted from bodily fluid to body fluid exposure.

... You know, it's annoying that people are allowed to know about HIV if they don't know anything else about it. No, you should not contract HIV unless you were bleeding and there was blood in the water.

where you paying the Toilet? wash your hand well and if you don't have any open wounds you could be fine. HIV isn't air born is it ?

You can't catch anything like that if you washed your hands thoroughly and properly. The problem is, most people don't wash their hands correctly.

Absolutely not! you cannot be infected with HIV by that incident..
HIV are transmitted through intercourse unprotected sex and used needles from the infected patient...
