In a jaw completely at rest the teeth are NOT supposed to touch. The only time teeth should touch during the normal day is during swallowing and chewing. Even in chewing is more of a sheering motion. When bitting on the front teeth they touch during tearing and inscising. When teeth do meet "in occlusion there should be simultaneous contacts to avoid trauma to any one tooth in particular"
Abnormal Teeth touching (parafunction, bruxism, & clenching)
Many people suffer from high spots or irregular occlusion that cause grinding and other types of abnormal daily contacts. Some time bruxing is caused by drugs such as Crystal meth or other psychotropic drugs, including many prescrition drugs. The other big cause of clenching of teeth is stress.

the teeth do meet whn ur mouth is closed in a normal occlusion. but the teeth does not always meet in everyone's case. some pple may hve front teeth which is protruded n this teeth may not meet the lower teeth or in conditions called anterior open bite, the front teeth do not meet even though the back teeth r biting. n in some cases, the teeth do not meet due to its alignment also. so in all these, i do not knw watz ur case. if u feel tat ur teeth in the upper jaw is not meetin those in the lower jaw, get consultation frm ur dentist. not all cases would need treatment. n treatment depends on whether u want to go thru it or not also.

Is this like a poll? Or are you trying to figure out what is normal? Because everyone's teeth are different. I have a crossbite so my teeth slide past each other.

My superb suited row of tooth overlap my backside row. the two rows touch a sprint (back of the superb suited row to the front of the backside row) whilst my mouth is closed. it rather is puzzling for me to chill out my superb suited row at as quickly as on my backside row. I ought to easily approximately dislocate my jaw to pass my backside row of tooth forward. Is that what you're describing? if so, you're wide-spread. you in basic terms have an overbite. as long because it rather is not hideously gruesome or inflicting you soreness, then there is no reason to be stressful.

Yes they should!! Your back teeth should meet completely, and then the rest should fall into place, in the front they may not meet perfect depending on your bite, but you should be able to touch in the back, if you don't you need to see an orthodontist ASAP
