Should a guy call every night, once a week, every two hours or what? What would be the optimum amount of contact?

if you are both in love with each other then every day. Before that twice or three times a week should be good.

Every other night sounds caring yet un-stalkerish to me. Maybe keep it unpredictable - surprises are nice.
I have just come back from a weeks holiday with my sister and her husband was blubbering because she didn't call every day. That make my sister furious. What a sap, we both thought, especially after 11 years of marriage.

If a guy wants to make me feel the best, he should call me at least everyday.
But if he is too busy, once a week is good enough for me.
I wouldn't want to give him so much pressure of having to call me every single day.

Depends how deep the relationship is, if you are just friends dont call everyday lol. If you are more serious then friends then call her whenever you are both able to talk, wether its everyday or every 2 hours lol (every 2 hours a lil too much though)

Im not a chick but I do know this If you smother a woman with attention she wont be intrested in you.So it depends on how often she calls you.If you call her 10 times and shes only called you once stop calling her.

If the guy is my boyfriend a quick call every day is nice...it doesn't have to be an hour long chat but nice toknow he is thinking of me and also gives us a chance to make plans to see each other.

I think a couple or three times a week is reasonable. It would be nice if each of those conversations lasted an hour at minimum.

i think that depends on the two of you ok. i like it when my b/f calls me everynight before we go to sleep. we text eachother all during the day too just to say hi and see how the other one is doing. there are no rules to this whole thing, whatever works for you two is what's the best thing

thats easy, a guy should just simply call at main points. meaning if you know she is sick only call early in the day and before she goes to bed. if you know she with the girls only call maybe twice. dont ever seem like a bugaboo. but i think it is safe to call twice a day.

every other day depending on how long uve been together tell her its becuz u were thinking of her and thats why u called make it seem as if ur excited to hear her voice girls love that
