last aug. i started talking to a guy in a chat room. we talked all the time and lived 4 hrs apart. we decided to meet in sept. then me and my kids went to visit him a few weeks later. on oct. 1st we moved in with him. then in nov. we got married. i just gave birth to a baby girl. things are going great its not even been a year together and we have only had one fight. i think this was the best thing i ever did.

You are a very lucky lady! With all of the rapes and killings that happen through internet meetings you have probably met the one in a million nice guys!!! I have met one or two men but have kept it at a friendship basis. I almost married a man I was with for 4 years but we ended up breaking up....I have to say you were pretty brave taking your kids to visit him and moving in with him. I would love to know the statistics on how often something good happens like that. Congratulations and a long marriage to you and that great guy! (does he have an older brother? lol)

I think I would meet someone I met online. This type of encounter is quite common it would seem. Perhaps people get to know each other with written communication a lot sooner or in a different way that in face to face meeting. There is probably less pressure and more time to think about what people say.
There have been time is the past where people corresponded with other over a number of years, met and married without ever having seem their partner until the marriage. This was what was referred to as a mail order bride and most of these marriages worked out from what I understand.

internet is awonderfull gateway 2 meet new people... teh reson u probly only had 1 argument is that an internet realtionship meen u can only talk so u get 2 kno each otehr verty well 1st.. rather han the sx gettin in the way.. so alredi b4 u met u kno wy makes each other tick/happy
then as the sex comes l8r on it is less of a shollow reationship and can b more passinonate as u been waitng ages 2 do it ;)

I have the same situation going on and when I turn 18 I will marry him, I met him 4 years ago in a chat room and since then I love him and trust him with my life.

I would, and have met people I found online. I don't think I've had the great experience you have, but I would do it again. Honestly, I don't think you should have introduced the kids to him until you knew him better. I think that though even if a parent knows someone face to face. Too big a chance for more heartache for the kids.

To answer your question... No, I wouldn't. It's NOT safe. No matter how much I trust the person, which I won't... I would never meet up with them. Especially if its a guy. TOTALLY not safe. I know you did... But your LUCKY. Who knows... You might of not been here asking this question if anything bad happened!!

yes ive met several men this way and Im married now too from an online chat, then emails etc. My son also found his wife in a chatroom and theyre very happy.

When I was separated from my wife, I did meet someone whom I met on line. It turned into a disaster. The lady I met I fell madly in love with and I thought she was in love with me. That was wrong. "We will always have a need for each other." She would always say.
"I am waiting for my life to begin with you." she would say on other occasions. I gave her my heart and I asked her to marry me on at least 4 occasions and she accepted each time.
Much to my chagrin she met 2 other men and was seeing them as well. Eventually she left me without even saying goodbye and is now married to one of the other men. This man doesn't let her speak to me, she can't have her own freinds they can only be his, etc etc etc.
Please forgive me for saying this, but I hope he spanks her nightly. She deserves it.

1/4 of my friends I hang with now are from online, my 2 last exs were too and so is my current girlfriend who I am happy with right now and planning to live with in a couple of months.
You just have to be smart in who you meet up with right? just like doing it out of cyberspace its the same thing except its 20th century now and we can do these things.
