In most cases, you'll have to appeal to the Head of Dept. in order to get into Honor or Advance Placement courses if you weren't recommended by your teacher for Honors or AP classes. I know some schools make you write an essay explaining, "Why you think you should be placed in Honors or AP courses"? Every school has a different policy so I would suggest go to your Academic Counselor.
Good Luck!
You are on the right track...

I don't think getting into an honor class will make your gpa go higher. Actually i think it's harder to get a good grade in honor classes because they have a higher standards and usually it means more work (at least that was the case for my college). Talk to the professors and let them know you are working hard, and ask for extra credit things to do. I did that the whole time and i graduated with 3.97

the only way to get into an honors class is to be invited you must have strait a`s in the regular class but if you talk to your counselor they may be able to help you get in honor classies. they are realy hard i took three honor classies seemed all i did was study just to pass them and even then i barely passed them with b`s and i had strait a`s in the normal classies and never needed to study

Good for you! I think you can do it. Teachers love a motivated student and will want to help you.
Talk to your guidance counselor. Tell her that you want to move up, and be prepared to convince her that you will work hard and get good grades in the harder classes. Ask your parents to come with you to the meeting and back you up.
If the school says no, try to strike a deal -- for example, "If I make all As in the first quarter, will you allow me to move up then?"

Too late now. You shoulda worked harder sooner.
Probably a bit of a downer, but that's the way it it.
Somebody who saw it coming a bit sooner and figured out what to do is going to get your seat at the University.
Don't let that keep you from working hard. You can always use good grades, and the work habits you develop from getting them.
