i'm just curious, now with english spoken everywhere (esp. in non-english speaking countries) - do you speak english more than your mother tongue? if so, why?

I am from Germany and I speak more German than English. At work I have to talk and to write in English of about 80% of my work.

I also read English books in my freetime. I think it is great to know another language.

In Germany we have many English word included in our language... especially in commercials.. It is nearly normal to have many English words in our German language.

Yes, I tend to speak English more than Tagalog. That's because I'm the only person at work who speaks Tagalog and the people I hang around with can't and don't speak the language.

Exactly the same amount.
My husband probably speaks English more than his mother tongue (French) and in some contexts speaks it better than his mother tongue.

i speak english a bit more than i speak spanish. i know both languages very well, but i use english more often because of the people that are around me.
but when i visit mother tounge country, it's more SPANISH than english.

I do all the time. I am half Tamil and half Sinhalese. My dad is Tamil.

I speak more English than the above two languages. At home and at my workplace.

I used to speak Vietnamese really well, but then I ended up speaking English more. I am ashamed of myself. :(

Hmmm.. im chinese and i speak chinese more often than English. Mother tongue can click u and your families and friends loads closer... yeaa....
