I am 1/2mexican 1/2 white. Because of my white skin and the nieghborhood I grew up in (California) I have witnessed first hand The stereotypes, hate, and treatment of white people by Mexicans Legal and Illegal. A few members of my own family have even told me I was not thier cousin because I look white. I have been called white trash and have got threatened to get beat up because I have spoken in spanish my Native langauge by birth. I am not saying that ALL Mexicans are like that But a portion of them are and Just wondering what gave you the right to tell me I couldn't be considered a part of my own race and tell me you are better than me because I was born with my white mothers skin? I have witnessed the things you say about white people thinking you exceed them in every way. And If you expect people to change their racist ways will you change yours? Please do not answer this question unless you have first hand experience in the group of ethnocetric people I am talking about.

I completely know what you mean,but sorry to say that its not just mexicans.I am also light complected and both my parents are mexican and I have also had some problems with family members and even other mexicans who didn't believe I was one.Yet also have witnessed and heard how many white people have told me that i should be happy i look white and that now with the whole immigration problem I should be "safe" because of how I look.So in answer to your question in order for the racism to change there should be a changed in all people no matter the color of their skin or ethnicity,but don't know if that truly is ever going to happen.

Mexican is not a race...it is a country. The darker skinned people are indigenous people (Indians) You share a common language that comes from Spain. Spaniards are white Europeans with a mix of North African people who came to make war and assimilated into their society. Mexicans in this country are mostly Indian..Native..What ever you want to call them. You are white and Indian..like allot of people in this country. Don't let these people get to you. They are jealous because you fit in better in a mostly white society than they do. It is sad that this is the way it is but it is the case. You are a beautiful creation of God....so be proud of that..

First of all we have to take pride in our own culture. When i was in my teens i hated the fact that i was Mexican because of everyone else(mainly the white race) looking down on me. when i was in public with my parents i would speak English to them and would shy away when they spoke Spanish. It wasn't till i turned 17 that i learned that i should be proud of my heritage and proud to know two different languages. When i would speak to my other friends in Spanish i found the white race trying to understand what i was saying. That made me think in my own mind, that i was better than them,just because i could speak two languages and they couldn't. Now i don't think of my self any better than any one in here but i still like the feeling that i can talk Spanish and English at the same time. that really throws everyone off. just because someone tell,s you something about your race, if you know in your heart it isn't true. do not let it get to you. as for your own family bringing you down like that. Hey their just words, let it go and go on with your life, no matter what happens. they are still family.

Ignore it. Maybe you "act too white" to them, but you should just be yourself and make sure you embrace both of your cultures...;)In high school, I used to be called "the white girl" bc of my fair skin, freckles, and because I spoke proper English, but it was all in jest.
Be proud of who you are, and be the bigger person.
The best of both worlds... :)

I work at a place which allows illegals to work there, sorry I can't mention where. Even though they are illegal and can't speak much english, they still treat us white people as if we owe them something. We gave their illegal asse s a job and everything to help them out and they still talk crap bout us.

nice job...... your question just perpetuates more racism against Mexicans...... by claiming that Mexicans are racists against whites!!!!! read the answers....... they are full of hate and non-sense...... racism exist everywhere and claiming it is wrong with one side of your mouth while perpetuating w/ the other is just wrong!!!!!! it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside..... you need to embrace both cultures and they will embrace you!!!!!
