Solicitor is similar to the attorney general in the US. There is probably a chief solicitor somewhere, I'm not quite sure exactly how ministry-style governments arrange titles.

need more info.... solicitor can mean either a lawyer or someone who is trying to sell you something.... take your pick... in what context are you asking?
