the white part has red init now, when it never was before. It looks like dark red bloodshot. The vet said nothing is wrong with it. It doesn't seem to bother her at all, and no sign of infection. Any ideas?

It could be pink eye, it could be cherry eye, it could be that she is having an allergy attack, it could be that she got something in it and it's just a little irritated. Did the vet actually see the cat? If he didn't and it was a phone consultation, I would take the cat in to be seen. If he did and he said not to worry, I wouldn't - for all of about 2 days. I would watch the cat carefully. If in a couple of days the eye is still red - I would be back at the vet's office asking him to check into it further. Better to be safe than sorry.

Take a small flashlight and study the surface of the eye. Note if there is any scratches or depressions. If there is or any thing changes call yor VEt
You didn't say if the Vet looked at you cat or adviced over the phone. The cat could have been hit in the eye. Think of what happens to people's eyes.
Also cats get pink eye that's very irritable and turns red with inflamation. I had two cats that got an ulcer [a hole eating through the layers on the eye. The ulcer was caused by a herpies virius . The VEt did a surgical proceedure and all is well.
Check her eye often during the day and keep her calm.

My cat had the same problem before too. If the thing doesn't start to go away in a couple of days, you need to get medincine from the vet. Sadly, if none of those things work, the vet might have to remove the eye.

Sounds like demonic position. Have an exorcism immediately.
