I agree in certain situations as it could end one's suffering and pain and put them at final rest.It is hard for a family to have to decide about a loved one but if the suffering outweighs the comfort of the one suffering then yes by all means I agree.Don't get me wrong I don't believe it is the answer for everyone but if it is warranted then I would say i agree.

Yes with the content of the 'prior procesee', like in Switzerland- a bit of a cop out though innit? Famous example of euthanasia in the film 'Soylent Green' with Charlton Heston. They should have programs written to make the death more exciting than just accepting a lethal injection. Like a pill that brings on a heart attack during a simulation of a bungee jump. That would be cooler.

Let me see, Euthanasia, the putting to sleep of terminaly ill people that are suffering greatly. Well we can do it to pets who most animal rights activists consider to be almost human too and have more rights then people in order to end their suffering. Unfortunately we live in a greed induced society where keeping one alive and suffering is more profitable then ending their misery. Of course i answer this with out refering to biblical principals. If I can't clean my lower portions on my own or live a dignified life then a dignified death is preferable. I'm not here to make others wealthy or to deal with others moral opinions for we all are immoral to some extent.

I watched several of my aunties and an uncle die of cancer, so horrible, 7 years ago we sat at the side of a hospital bed seeing the same thing happening to our mom, she was ill and in pain, I wished I could have taken her pain away to stop her suffering, you never let a dog or cat suffer for pain as that would be classified as cruelty, humans have no choice, so for me euthanasia gets a big thumbs up off me.

I agree in principle and in certain situations. In my " Advance Life Directive" ( living will ) I have given permission to "pull the plug" and in certain cases not to medicate and in other cases to medicate adequately to relieve pain and keep me comfortable even although that this could make me a junky for a short time and probably lead to an eventual coma and overdose, Having worked in the medical field, I don't see any reason why anyone should suffer unnecessary pain, I'm da*n sure that I don't want to.

I agree with euthanasia for someone in constant suffering, but who is of sound enough mind to request it.

I am thinking of some one who is terminally ill, or possibly slowly losing motor skills, but still with a perfectly able mind. Why should the agonising pain be dragged out for longer, when the person may not want to wait.

We put animals out of their pain by sending them to sleep, rather let them have it drawn out to the inevitable conclusion.

I think it should definately be an option for people with certain degenerative conditions.

I know of an old lady who spent the last 5 years of her life in misery. Even though she was fortunate enough to have family who took her in and cared for her they knew that she would rather have ended her life years earlier. How many people would want to suffer the indignity of having their children change their nappies?
Her quality of life was non existant .
I know it would be a difficult law to introduce and manage but I think we need to think seriously about it. I'm sure there are ways of safeguarding against abuse.
I hope it will be an option for me..

It depends on the situation. If I ended up with an incurable decease or I turned in to a vegetable or I had a very serious stroke or something then yes sure I would want to be put out of my misery.

Agree as long as it is your own choice.e.g. make a living will.
I am ill but God forbid that I should get that ill that I am a burden on anyone. I would hate to land up peeing myself and unable to do things for myself. I would like to have a choice and at least die with a little dignity.

Absolutely. Make suicide legal also. If you attempt suicide, yo uare cut off from all healthcare needed for your failed attempt. That "cry for help" crap pisses me off. If they didnt get any attn, they wouldnt do it.

More death row executions also, and anyone involved in terrorist plots against the US. Just take them out back and shoot them. Feed teh bodies to the pigs ( that would get the point across, eh). But yeah, euthanasia is a good start.
