If you do not believe in God, that is your choice. When you Try to impose your view on others, be it forced religion or forced lack of religion, there is going to be a conflict.
The problem is not religion, it is people who feel they must impose their beliefs on others!

Jesus didn't preach peace the way most people think - He preached peace with God, through obedience to the Father (Matthew 7:21). We will be judged by His Words (John 12:48).
Wipe out the church? The church is His body (Ephesians 1:23), and the fulfillment of the eternal purpose of God (Ephesians 3:10). Let's just read the Bible and go by it, for a change, instead!

People are like cattle and wants to be controlled and manipulated, and people wants to be part of a group or a posse.
The Christians and their Churches are fear-full from loosing their status and aggressive about forcing others to copy their way of life in living as Christians.
It is sad...
Through out time Christians have committed crimes against mankind in the name of their made up Lord.
The Bible is written by man and it is full of lies and deceptions, the Bible has nothing to do with the teachings of ( Jesus that is in English spoken language ) Eissa the son of Marriam the Daughter of Zakariah.
The Bible was even re-written more than a thousand time through time from its original version, and each version do not match.
The newer versions of the Bible has been copied from the old testament and then it was changed a little so that it can be used in Church and schools. The Joke of the Town... We are in the 21st century and man is worshiping man, what Holly Cra-p!

You don't make me feel uncomfortable at all. Christians are used to hearing such talk and are commanded to tell the unfaithful about the Love of Jesus.
If you do not have faith in God, your creator, maybe He has not called you, or you have never had the chance to hear about the wonderful plan He has for your life. By the Grace of God, He gives us faith. Faith is not something we have come up with ourselves. It is given by God as a gift.
I know that as a small child, I had faith in God. I just knew.
May I suggest you read the Gospel of John. I know, I know, you scoff and laugh. But really, read it. Give it a chance. Let the Spirit of the Lord, the Almighty God, Creator of all things, speak to your heart. Jesus is so kind and loving, and He wants to have a relationship with you. Open your heart even a millileter and see what happens.

Well I believe that we shouldn't fighting over religion, is really a matter of personal belief. I mean religion is nothing but a really strong personal belief. Even though it has mest up big time our society, it does do some good to the world. People who believe in God, or what ever other all powerful being will find strength in themselves to fight through everything from sicknesses and deaths, while people who aren't religious most of the time just give up when they are depressed because they believe there is nothing that could save them.
religion is a good thing, if only people didn't have that strong beleif that their own religion should rule

Every one needs someone or something to believe in. I think believing something positive is what is important. If God can give your life the boast it needs to keep going each day we should hold on to what we need to make it. I am a Christian, you didn't step on my toes. It's all about what gives you joy. I have joy when I can't change my circumstances. You should spend time finding your own answers instead of killing yourself asking theological questions. The church is in the individual so in order to wipe out the church you will have to wipe out the individual. A true Christian stands strong and confident so don't kid yourself about their strength.

Some of the answers to these questions are truly laughable. It's nice that the imagination that we treasured in childhood is still alive in so many people who have yet to develop emotionally enough to stand on their own two feet during life and be mature about the prospect of death.
I particularly liked "after you die you're on your own."
Are we not on our own now, then? If you trip over a rock in the woods, do you still not land on your face? Or does an all-seeing, all-caring being send a miraculous gust of wind to prevent the impact? No, it doesn't, does it. You land on your face.
The Lord, as they say, works in mysterious ways... By not working at all. Genius. I do that all the time in the office and people revere me, too. Where was God on September 11, 2001? Day off? Annual leave? Dentist? Where was he on July 7, 2005? Funeral? Overslept, pehaps?
I used to pretend I had a pet dragon. It took care of me when I was younger and it watched over me when I was at school. I have grown up since then and know that the dragon was a figment of my imagination and its influences over my life were just my own influences projected onto the image of the dragon.
I think it's time to realise that your god is exactly the same as my dragon, except that yours has a book. Mine has a book, too. Loads of them, but they didn't sell as well.
When I die I'm on my own. When you die you're on your own. We all are; nobody knows what happens next, but I don't need someone in a silly outfit to tell me that if I abide by their rules then it'll all be okay afterwards. The rules I abide by are the ones in my head, my morals that distinguish between right and wrong and though very few of them don't match those of the law (though this does not make my moral stance on some things wrong) most of them do, which means that my inherent morals, which I didn't learn in a building with a pointy roof, are perfectly adequate.
If you (not the asker, the other people who are bleating on about God) think that you need to be spoonfed morals by a third party, then you probably shouldn't be allowed out on your own.

I bet you asked this question JUST to get some people really edgy about it didn't you.
So, I will pretend you really meant the question.
God, would care if we gave up on Religion. We would all learn the wrath of God quickly if everyone on Earth gave up. But you know what, asking this question you will not turn one true believer away from God, nice try, but we of faith don't doubt.

Religion was invented for man long ago for answers for questions, which are now being answered by science. So from a point of view religion is being outdated by science.
But for those who are believers and have a problem that science can't explain/solve, you have religion to turn to. For those who don't believe in religion, where do they turn when problems can't be solved?
Religion is needed for some people so getting rid of them would be stupid.

There are going to be a lot of bable thumpers posting passages and screaching that you are going to a place they call hell.
Right you are, the demise of religion would spell the end to a great deal of the worlds troubles!!
It will not be given up because too many are unwilling or unable to use their brains and to make THOUGHTFUL decisions. That is the short answer.
