In normal pregnancies, intercourse is not likely to endanger the baby, but it can be uncomfortable for you. It depends on the position of your uterus and cervix. The uterus moves quite a bit when accommodating a baby. It is normal for the uterus, in non pregnant women, to be positioned right in the middle of the bladder and the rectum or pointed slightly forward towards the bladder. However, some women have very anteverted uterus (pronounced forward direction), and when a baby is growing, they can experience more urinary symptoms and painful intercourse. Also, during pregnancy, your cervix (where the baby's head will end up resting) descends a bit further into the vaginal canal. How much it descends depends on the person, but this is the reason why intercourse can be painful for pregnant women in the later months. My advice: try it. If this is not a high risk pregnancy and you don't experience cramping during the intercourse, it should be fine. If you do feel cramping, wait until after the baby is born, if you have time for it! (just kidding) But before trying ANYTHING, ALWAYS evaluate the state and risk of your pregnancy with your doctor first because things can change.

sex is permissable the whole course of pregnancy. it really depends on the woman's desires. some women find that their libidos are heightened throughout the pregnancy, others libidos fluctuate with the hormonal fluctuation. then of course, for comfort's sake, couples may need to try different sexual positions to find what is most comfortable.
a lot of women feel less desirable as they put on the baby weight. it helps a lot if the husband can reassure the wife and make her feel beautiful and desirable.
sex at the end of pregnancy is sometimes suggested to induce labor. the prostaglandins in the semen can sometimes stimulate labor. this doesn't always work, however.

I belive most of the time through pregnancy exept the last 2 months to a month each woman is different sex is ok throught the pregnancy and can relive the stress and hormonal changes through the pregnancy. Generally having sex whist pregnant is very safe unless you have any copmplications. I'd Advise you to see Your GP to confirm this information in relation to your situation but from our experience all is good.
Have fun

The people who say you need to limit it in the 8th or 9th month are guessing (and guessing wrong I might add). As long as you have a normal pregnancy you never have to limit sex. Yes some positions may be uncomfortable. When you have reached full term (38 weeks) the prostaglandins in the semen can actually help to soften and dilate the cervix to help with "getting things going". HAVE FUN! (with sex, I mean)

There is not normally a psysiological limitation...
As long as the woman enjoys it and does not find it painful
it is fine...
If it is painful on one position, try a different position.

It is permissible. However, cannot be too vigorious. Also, some positions like the missionary position is not allowed.
