She is 13 years old and she talked to me about her period a few days ago. She says that it has been 3 months since her first period and still no period. I told her that her periods may be irregular. Since I'm not very good at this sort of things, I was wondering what I could say to her. I really want to help her. She lives with her dad, so she dosen't really have anyone to ask but me.

Did she just start having periods? If so, it's normal that her periods are irregular.

Still, if I were you I'd advice her to see a gyno.

It's normal for a 13 year old to have irregular periods. It can also be caused by weight loss, aneorexia, or obesity. Make sure she is eating healthy and exercising. If she is already doing this, im 95 % sure she is fine.
If it goes on, its good for her to tell her dad she wants to see a doctor for something "personal". He will understand and take her.

Just tell her that this is normal for young girls her age. Due to the amount of activity that girls her age do, the body protects itself by not producing an egg when the body needs the energy used to make the egg for other things. Since she doesn't have a female to talk to about things like this, there are some good books that explain it for her to take a look at. Have her go to the local library and check it out. Tell her she has nothing to worry about as it really is not that uncommon.
