I do that all the time. It gets on my nerves and it makes for a lot of sleepless nights.
Use it to your advantage. Instead of stressing on how to stop over-analyzing things, think about ways to use it to relieve stress or get a better job or invent something and get a patent on it.
Over-analyzing has it's uses and until you can harness the power of it, you'll forever be stressing over it. Harness it and it absolutely WON'T be a negative thing.
You have to out-smart your analysis, sometimes, with bigger and better ideas and put the ideas to work FOR you and not against you.

Right, it SURE does. This is what I've been trying to articulate to my husband and I really thank you for giving me these words. I always tell him to understand that he can't nor does he need to CONTROL everything or really anything OUTSIDE OF himself (or yourself either). Try to build your unconditional love & acceptance.

i do that all the time...its bugs me because i cant help it...it just happens...the only solution i could see would be to start seeing either a hypnotist or therapist.
