As history has shown terrorism will never go away. That being said, it can be significantly reduced. America'ss unjust and unfair policies in the middle east and the occupation of Iraq are not the only reason but a major one for the increase in anti American sentiments in the Arab and Islamic world.

Things will have to get a lot worse before there is anything approaching a "solution" to terror.

For one thing, appeasement won't work.

For another, our post-WW II notions of human rights impede the kind of police freedoms (and police state) that will (1) snuff most, but not all terrorism and (2) sadly, also entrench a vicious elite in power that will equate its democratic opponents with its "Islamo-fascist" enemies.

You don't give any clue to how you see a solution: perhaps additional gun ownership, and legal protection for those who kill in good faith, but by mistake.

No mercy, no santuary, and no relief from attack for the terrorist, the civilians that support them and the governments that back them.

Terrorist know they will be defeated in any battle their only hope for success is if the other side quits. As long as they believe there is a chance the other side will quit they will continue. The only way to defeat them is to continue to kill them and continue the pressure until there is no doubt that their goals will never be reached. Once they realise the other side is not going to quit until they are wiped out they will give up.

You cannot negociate with mad dog's or terrorist. You can either kill them or die.

Call it what it really is: Defense

I mean, soldiers are called "soldiers", but the opposition is always called "guerrillas", "extremists", "infidels", "terrorists".

If all you had were stones surrounding what was once your family, neighbors and friends in a neat pile of twisted metal, what extremes would you go to to get even if all you had were a bunch of guys hanging around a border with all sorts of weapons trying to keep the people that did that to you and your family, out of their villages?

Terrorism can only stop if Nabi comes back to this world and tell his people to be wise and understand the symbolic meaning and the context of his teaching.

I am not advocating genocide at all, but to me I can see no way of ever getting any of those types to stop blowing up women and children in the name of god.
