The schools in Los Angeles, where my children attend, would get better, because right now a significant part of the illegal immigrant population is transient, here. They come, link into the 'network' and start school then move into the interior (better schools etc there.) That means that the schools are being impacted every year with a large influx of newcomers in all grade levels who know no English. The other ESL students who would otherwise progress faster are slowed by the newcomers. The rest of the school is impacted by the ESL students overall, since they get most of the school discretionary funding to address the problem.
That means I might not have to put my kids in private school when they get to middle school, which is insult on injury since my taxes are subsidizing those illegally here to begin with. However, that would take interior enforcement against gang members, too, since that mentality seems particularly prevalent within the illegal population, and even in the middle school my children would go to, I have heard of non-Hispanic children being attacked, even while school was in session (PE). (This is considered a 'good' neighborhood, by the way, but middle schools draw from a larger area than elementary schools.)
Also, LA County spends $1 Billion a year on illegal immigrants, and California spends $10.5 billion a year on illegal immigrant benefits and services like education and health care. Perhaps over time those numbers would go down if those already here had a chance to assimilate rather than being constantly 'refreshed' in their cultural separatism by excess immigration.

To trade or to people? If to trade, you would be unable to export or import.
If to people, the only immediate effect would be a big rise in costs and the real minimum wage.
But over the long term the US would lose the enormous wealth of skilled intellectual labour -- the scientists who built the atom bomb were mostly immigrants who could have chosen any country to provide their skills to.
Additionally, China has more teenagers than the US has people. If, over 20 years, China's middle class and economy grow at the same rate, the US will be neutered and rendered a middle power, in much the same way England was by the US.

If the borders closed to illegal immigration, We've already had an example. In California, on the day the illegals stayed home to "protest", I got to work 30 minutes faster because those who did not pay for the freeways (in taxes) stayed off the freeways. Also, a legal immigrant friend of mine was contracted to fill in that day, so he had one more day of employment that he wouldn't have had otherwise. If the same happened for our overcrowded schools and hospitals, I'd say I'd benefit from the situation.

Dieselpupp and List you two are so naive. Mexicans arent the only ones who do landscaping you know, some unlazy white people do it too for a living as well, such as my family. I just dont understand why some white people as well as these two assholes i listed above are lazy and cant do anything themselves but have to hire people to do it for them. They just think that they are too good for the work because they probably are rich and sit behind a desk in an air conditioned office all day. Well not all white people are rich and some people do their own housework because they are not lazy like you two are.

My job would be a lot easier (Army) and I could stay home in the States and protect our boarders instead of fighting someone elses war (not against the war so don't read into that).
I'd also be happier because I wouldn't have to search whatever product I'm buying for the English description and instructions!

I'd feel a lot safer driving after dark since I wouldn't have to worry about being shot by illegal members of the Mexican Mafia. That's one of the exciting things about living in Texas - we get the Mexican Mafia guys crossing the border and coming here and setting up shop. And if they don't like the way you look - they shoot you.

I would not get parts for my old AM-Car!
But have no fear! They would open it two days later. Have you Americans noticed the label "made in" on the products you buy? How many says "USA"?
And to the guy who said that he would be able to read owners manuals in English : Dream on! These products are made out of the States so you wouldn't even be able to buy them!

Terrible! I have plane tickets to Mexico for Saturday to visit my in-laws! It's bad enough with all the restrictions they have at airports as it is. I don't see that it is doing any good.
