I had a reasonable time, but this was Bangor North Wales, I'm pretty sure the song is about the Irish Bangor. But we did finish a bottle of Cider.

I live 40 minutes from Bangor, Maine, USA, but I think you mean Bangor, North Wales. Yep, been there. Spent about half an hour trying to download three e-mail msgs. Their Internet connection was slower than death in a wheelchair! Pretty town, though.

We went to the Northern Ireland Bangor once to see a Max Power show and it never turned up, so no, it wasn't a wonderful day. There was a nice chippy there though and a shopping centre so I wasn't totally bored.

Does anybody go to Bangor? Certainly not for tourism. I thought they used that city name for the song only out of poetic licence.
Bangor, Maine, perhaps. There you can get a fine lobster dinner.
