what kind of liquor is Everclear

the previous answer is mostly correct. everclear is usually about 190 proof (95% pure alcohol) it has virtually no flavor but is very strong. to make a liquor like vodka, grain is distilled into almost pure alcohol (pure alcohol is 200 proof) and then water is added to it to bring it to the strength desired. everclear has little or no water added to it.

I think that it would qualify as a vodka/gin blend. However, I have also seen it listed and found with the whiskey section of my local ABC store. Search it on the Internet and look up liquor names and see if you can figure it out.

Everclear is a neutral grain spirit. It's not gin because it isn't flavored with botanicals. It isn't vodka because it isn't filtered. It would actually be closest to unaged whiskey.
