Ok, so my boyfriend just woke me up at 5:00am and told me that his right sidd of his jaw is hurting unbearbly so. He lost some of the filling in his tooth, and (at the moment) doesn't have the money to go to the dentist. I"ve heard that clove oil, and garlic works, but I don't have either cloves (oil) or Garlic cloves. Any suggestions?

He took 800mg (perscription stregth) Ibuprofin, but it's been 45min. and still no relief. What should I do?

He says that he thinks that he was cold and bore down on his teeth (because of shivering, maybe?) and it's the tooth second to last molar, on the right side, that's missing the part of a filling.

Probably no way unless you have some pain medication. The spice "cloves" will help. But I have had a toothache so bad that 3 perkiadan's would not faze it. My dentist told me the next day that a toothache is one of the most painful things a person can go through. Even first to a kidney stone. I had a friend that had a stone and watched him drank a quart of 100 proof Vodka and he was still screaming. He tried to pass out but could not. To the ER we carried him....

Among the most effective home remedies for toothache is garlic. A clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth. It will relieve the pain and, sometimes, may even cure it. A clove should also be chewed daily in the morning. It will make the cure teeth making it strong and healthy.

Chew cloves or rub clove oil on the tooth.

Peel and crush a clove of fresh garlic and mix it with peanut butter. Apply it to the aching tooth and keep it there for some time.

Has he tried Bonjela? I found that worked wonders when my wisdom teeth came through. Also, whiskey is good to remove pain, I don't mean the whole bottle either(!), just a shot and in a fre minutes the pain should go away.

Ibuprofen is a good painkiller, but it's more for swelling, thats why a lot of women take it when they get period pain, and it's good for headaches. Cocodomol is a stronger painkiller than ibuprofen.

My advice would be either to see a dentist, or post the question in Health - Dental.

I've previously posted questions in the dental section and received a really detailed and very helpful response from a dentist there who regularly answers questions. I very much doubt he'd head over here to the medicine category though.

Good luck.

Rather taking Ibuprofin. he should take Diclofenac Sodium. It is for toothache. 800 mg is very high dose and it can cause stomach problem too. Try Voveran DT (diclofenac). God bless both of you.
