According to DC comics, when he was created in 1937, Superman, Kal-El, was born on Krypton, a large planet with a red sun. When he landed on Earth as a baby, the Earth's lower gravity combined with our yellow sun's radioactivity gave him his super powers, including the ability to fly.

its called blue screen i think. They put a man aka superman on a stage set where the background is completly blue. The camera takes the shot , then they super impose that background of the sky on everything thats in that blue background. It gives the impression hes flying. Then again i bet you still believe in santa
