Where can I find a small puppy for adoption or sale for under 400 dollars? It doesn't have to be purebreed or anything, I just want a little lapdog (my little bros afraid of big dogs, and we live in a small apartment). I live in Celina, OH and don't want to travel far to pick it up. I hope to get a puppy by my birthday in November. Please help, any info on how to find one would be greatly appriciated

I would first check with your local vets. Often I see notices at our vets of people having to move and not be able to take their pets along and will give them to a good home. And as everyone else has said, check your local humane socity. There are so many unwanted wonderful animals there.
Be prepared for the expenses that come along with a new dog. In the past week we have spent $129 in vet bills having our new dog spayed and shots and heartworm meds. $50 for a dog house and over $100 for fencing. Plus we had already spent $198 for a pen to keep her in until we get the yard fenced.
But she will be worth the cost. They give so much love.
So have fun and enjoy your new pet.

Look at your local animal shelter or animal rescue. Also look online at PetFinder.com. Don't froget to ask questions...just because it is a small puppy doesn't mean it won't grow into a large dog.

Go to your local animal shelter, not only can you get a dog/puppy for about $70 but you can feel good in saying that you rescued one.

If you can not find a reputable breeder, try some of the local animal shelters. Look in your paper. DO NOT BUY from pet stores. Most of those animals come from puppy mills and are not healthy.

ah go to petfinder.com. But first...why do you want a puppy? They are quite pricy to care for. Mine costs around $40 to feed a month (good natural food so he's nice and healthy) plus $20-$30 in vet bills, and the rest of the stuff I do myself but for other ppl ranges around $50

and thats only for one

Go to the local animal shelter. Look in the newspapers. As the vets in your area, they sometimes have people looking to sell a dog.
Enjoy your new friend, they are so special!

Do not buy from pet stores or newspapers. If you do, you will be supporting people who torture dogs for money.

Find your local shelter or animal control facility and adopt from there. Fees range from $20-$150 depending on the shelter.
