I'm having trouble teaching my dog how to get my attention when he needs to go potty. He knows when he needs to go so he just leaves and goes without me noticing. He knows not to potty on the carpet so he goes into the kitchen or bathroom where there is flooring and lets it all out.

How can I get him to scratch the door or make obvious suggestions or get my attention let me know he wants to go potty so that I can send him outside?

Hang a little bell from the doorknob with a ribbon. . Each time you take him out, jingle the bell.. He will catch on soon. take him out frequently until he catches on.

You should try and get your dog's attention, not the other way around. Keep him on a regular feeding schedule and take him outside after feeding and watering - most dogs need to go more than three times a day. When he potties outside praise him. When he potties inside, tell him he's a bad dog. You should try obedience training him - that will help your dog to know what is expected of him. Good luck!

Stick him outside, or take him outside about 30 min after he eats and in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. He will eventually go to the bathroom, reward him, and continue to do it until he comes to you when he has to go. He eventually realize that he is supposed to use the bathroom outside. The reason he is going in the house is because he has picked a spot in there as his bathroom, as soon as you show him that there is another place to go he will go. Remember even after you show him that he should go outside if you don't take him outside he will go where he is going now.

canines usualy receives used to our common 8h rythm. Your canines isn't t h a t previous, yet its not likely to be hardship-free. Be persistant and you will see some outcomes. IT additionally relies upon on the canines, im not sure how does it artwork with those. in case you dont wanna stress it and your self, in simple terms go away it a cuvette and discover ways to do bizz there, yet im confident itd artwork besides as coaching it to do it exterior. coach it with the aid of displaying mess it rather is completed, yet do not beat it with hand, the two say factor with confident voice, or use folded magazine or a paper in case you need to. attempt to upward thrust up hour or 0.5 an hour before ( i know its tuff!!) to stroll canines before, and decrease that factor till i upward thrust up on the time you usualy do. i realize it sounds complicated regardless of if it rather is going to hold some outcomes as long as you keep attempting.

The best way is to get him in a routine. When you get up, let him outside. Let him outside when he normally does his "duty" if there is a significant time he does it. When he eats, let him outside. At night, let him outside, especially when you are going to bed. Also, having playtime with him helps "move things along too". He will eventually conform to this routine.

You put its nose in it and whoop the **** out of it while saying no in a stern voice. That will be a two-fold exercise 1) It will be scared to poop and pee in the house and will wait until you are ready to go as you are the "PACK LEADER" and 2) Whenever it is doing something you don't like the stern no will ring true in its ears.

you can't, not yet at least. First when u feed him wait like 10-15 min then take him to one spot to do his stuff... that way he'll become familiar to the place with his odder there... after a while he should get the hang of it and start going there by himself and warn you when he needs to go.

Dont wait for him to train himself, it simply doesnt work that way.
As much as we hate to do it, discipline him.
If you catch him, raise your voice and give him a firm pop on the nose and quickly bring him outside to show him "this is where we go."
If you dont catch him in the act, bring him back to him and show it to him and discipline just the same. (Always bring him outside or he will think he just shouldnt go)
Once he learns where he should be, he will begin to form his own ways of showing you, you just have to watch him closely and learn a little for yourself.
