I think that they need a court order to enter home against your will. The circumstances may be different if you are accepting state funding for health care In the real world, however, they will get the order if they ask for it and they will be more sure than ever that you are hiding something. Why not let them in, if all that is needed are minor repairs?

They can request to be allowed in - but if you refuse they must get a an order from the court to force you to let them in. If they have an order from the court, then you must comply or risk arrest. (Occasionally the social services worker may opt to ask for police to come with them - it's much harder to tell a police officer 'no' when they ask to be let in, but you have the right to do so. However, if the police think that someone is at risk then they could opt to come inside in spite of your objections.)

This law varies from state to state. In the state I live in, yes, they bring along a police officer and can force their way in. As other answerers have said, you're smarter to let them in and be cooperative. Sounds like you're hiding something otherwise.

Not without 72 hours notice they arent.....if unsure contact your local state ombudsman or senator and ask them what your state laws are regarding health services laws.
