That sounds like a normal throat infection. Try putting hot cloths around the throat. Keep them on until they go cold, and then reheat them. Do this as much as is needed to feel comfortable. This will help blood get to her throat and start fighting the infection.
If it keeps up past about a week, and the pain starts to creep down into her chest, take her to the ER of the local hospital. Pain like that will need medical attention.
I hope this helps.

Its probably tonsilitis. The symptoms sound bad, but...its tonsilitis - that stuff can happen. This link on webmd tells you "when you should call the doctor" for treatment of tonsilitis.

She doesn't really need to go to the hospital, though she should see a doctor, like tomorrow. (urgent care clinic?).
If she can't stand the pain, they could help her at the hosptial. But it might be better to just stay in bed, as opposed to spending the night in the emergency room. Yuck.

I would definitely say take her to a doctor. Especially if she has a fever. A fever is a big deal if uncontrolled and it will let you know how badly she is sick. If it's not too high you could probably wait till tomorrow but she will have to have them cut out from the sound of it. Hope it all turns out ok.

Pus on tonsiles = bacterial infection. She will need anti-biotics. Take her to a doctor. Also gargling with sore throat washes etc will help.

She'll be ok....it's either a bad sore throat or strep throat. Strep throat requires antibiotics and a sore throat you just have to wait out and use home remedies. You are a sweet girl for caring about your mom that way. Stay sweet.

Hi tweetybird,
cute user name, that's what I called my youngest daughter when she was a baby *smiles*.
Anyway, dear, YES you are right you need to get your mother to see a doctor. She must be in sooooo much pain. She really should go to an emergency department/outpatients and have it taken care of now.
God bless your dear heart, and help you and your Mom quickly.

Sounds like strep throat to me, a visit to the doctor and a shot of penicillin is in order.

Go to the doctor.
Do not look for medical advice on the Internet.
