It would end alot of wars. But sadly we would still find something to fight about.

Good men will do good things and bad men will do bad things reguardless of god, but for a good man to do bad things that takes religion.

No, you're wrong. While a great many wars are fed by religion, not all of them are. The Falklands was not a religious war, for example, resulting from something as simple as one country sticking a flag in another's territory. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were not intended as religious wars but, because a Muslim's faith seems to be far more important than his/her country of origin, by invading a Muslim country they became such. Rather than just a certain amount of resistance in the occupied territories, a global terror network has sprung up.

Well, most wars in the past have been waged because of religion, so that might work, but then the people wouldn't have anything to worship so wars could be waged over what to worship, even though then religion would come back. There has to be something for people to put faith in so religion would just come back.

Fat too easy an option. The World Wars weren't based on religion. In fact, very few wars are, contrary to popular misconception. Most of it is based on greed.
And usually, it is land based and territory. Religion, as a tool to brainwash people, might be used as an extenuating circumstance, like the hatred of Jews. You might find though, that is ithe resentment of people, fuelled by their jealousy of a successful group in their midst who refused to fit in with the rest of the society around them, that is actually the cause of that kind of racism.
Get rid of greed and you'll get rid of wars.

Although my most ambitious dream would be to set the world free from religions, I'm afraid that ridding the world from religions would not end up wars. That would probably make the best justification of wars disappear. But warmongers would easily find another good way to justify their business.

Religion has always enspired wars but it is not the only cause. The oldest and most classical causes are Power and Posession
During history many leaders have even masked their power hunger as religious wars. Unless we can get all of the worlds leaders to be selfless with only their peoples interests in mind I think we are still a long way from world peace!!

It is only the arrogant branches of religion that need getting rid of. These branches believe their religion is the only right one and everyone should follow their religion. The people of these religions believe it is their duty to make sure everyone believes what they believe - this is where the trouble starts. Most religions tolerate other religions and believe they all have the same final goal so they live alongside each other peacefully.

Religion has always been a great instigator of wars as we can see in the Middle East today and the jews base their claim to Palestine on religion.
But there are other reasons for war, usually greed and power.

No...that's not the way it works. War has been around even before "religion".
And the word religion doesn't just belong to the Christians, Muslims, Jews...it belongs to anyone that has some sort of belief system...e.g. you can have religion of the mind.
People need to stop thinking so much...all it does is make others pissy and gives the thinker a headache.

Rid the world of CERTAIN religions and rid the world of war. Rid the world of all religion, and you rid the world of purpose.
