You need a blood test pronto, may be that is one of the causes.
Short temper comes to a person who is very sensitive to everything.
Nobody can help you here, except meditation.
You can start meditation and control your emotions.
Try to understand the feelings of others, instead of thinking only about you.

Fine yourself, put a dollar in a bottle everytime you lose control.

Every week, choose a day that you call "reward day". If, for that day, you can control your temper through more than 5 situations, allow yourself to use the money in the bottle for something nice. If you can't, keep the money until the next week, for you to try it again.

If you don't have enough dollars, you can put quarters in instead.

Close your eyes and Just visualise a HOUSE ON FIRE BECAUSE OF A SHORT CIRCUIT. Visualise and feel the FLAMES, THE SMOKE, THE HEAT AND THE BURN. SHORT TEMPER is like SHORT CIRCUIT it can ONLY DESTROY and DESTRUCT!! Withing no time you will feel calm and in CONTROL. This is a SHOCK TREATMENT to your brain which harbours the SHORT TEMPER. This JARRS your Brain and it gains control over your temper.

My son has a temper probelm too.

There is a way to control it but is takes practise.

It sounds like you want to change things .....

There are three words :

* STOP - stop, breathe, give yourself a pause
* THINK - how might you react, what alternatives are there to anger? Try silence, leaving the scene, responding assertively and not aggressively
* ACT - carry out your decision...

then

Reward yourself if you avoided and angry response...

Does this help?

Wanting to is a start. There's actually two parts to anger. The emotion itself and the expression of the emotion. For us, it's almost impossible to control the emotion but controlling the expression of the emotion IS possible. If you keep yourself from expressing your anger, in speech, in body language, in facial expressions, in long drawn out, ill-suppressed sighs, then maybe later you can work on the emotion itself.

Expressing negative emotions just wastes energy. You don't get anything from it, you only lose something.

This may sound cliché, but closing your eyes while taking a deep breath and slowly counting to 10 really does help. Then at least you've had a little time to cool down and think about what you're about to say or do.

What has helped me a lot is I take walks to calm myself down or I go and hit a punching bag until I get out all my aggression.
Also try to avoid people that get you in a bad mood...and if you find your self in a conversation that your about to burst, you should excuse your self and take a walk, or you can also write down all your feelings in a journal you would be surprise what you learn about your self when your reading it.

Short tempered !!!!

A person can only be short tempered when he/she is too your or in his/her teens.

This just happens. Its natural.

Its only when everything seems to be not going in your way.

The best advice will be accept things as it comes. do not try to over work and get things done.

anything which has to happen will happen in its own time remember this....
