He sometimes tells me that I'm great, and that he enjoys talking to me. We get on very well. We laugh a lot together, and have various in-jokes. We tend to think in the same way, and often say things the other was about to say. We're friends, but I can't tell if he likes me as more than a friend. He's a few years older than me, and he says he's shy and he doesn't meet many women in his normal life. I once told him that no one ever likes me as more than a friend and he said 'I'm sure there are those who care deeply but don't express it'. How much should I read into that? He's the sort of person who everyone gets on well with, and he has lots of friends, but I think he talks to me more than a lot of those, and we have more deep and meaningful conversations! He says I'm a good listener, and he wants me to be his 'sounding-board'. We talk on MSN quite a lot (I know him in real life too). Short of asking him (which I don't have the confidence to do), how can I tell what he thinks of me?

I would say yes. I know I would want to be more than just friends. Especially if he's spends a lot of time with you. Go for it. What do you have to loose. Just a friendship.

Well, chances are that he does like you. Men, most men anyway, don't normally pick a girl to talk to a lot without there being a reason behind it. Granted, he's probably not the pig that's being nice to you to get into your pants, so no worries on that end. Oh, and be careful, it's not wise to get too attached if you're afraid to ask him. That's bascially the only thing I can tell you do to, ask him. Ask him on MSN if you're afraid to in real life. I'm sorry if that didn't help.

First tell me what is ur age!!! R u over 18 than it is ok for u to show ur feelings! If ur below 18, why don't you juz let things stay as they are because if he does not like you then he might be a little scared to talk to u! Then u will lose a close friend of yours! It is better to stay as friends then to lose a friend! Keep that in mind! If he likes u then just go with it! Good Luck! Hope that u will find my answer useful!!!

I've just found out that a great work friend of mine fancies me, I had many clues but like you needed to know before it went any further, I didn't want to make a fool of myself, we went to lunch together regually, we text alot, seemed to spend as much time as we could together, he used to touch me on the arm or shoulder quite often, he would make me coffee, all those little things look out for. I knew deep down how he felt, the sexual chemistry was unreal, if it feels good go for it, you'll know. From the sounds of it he's very keen, good luck.

Honestly I think the "'I'm sure there are those who care deeply but don't express it'. " is a dead giveaway. I think he likes you, I mean who else drops that line? It's like straight out of a movie hahahaha.
What happens when you look into his eyes? Does he look away?
Is he a shy guy in general or insecure a little bit?
If the answer to these questions are "yes" then he probably likes you as more than a friend.

some guys take a long time before he feels sure that of what he actually feels. in this case, i think he does really like you. he might just waiting the time to tell you.
unless you dont wanna wait, you can casually bring it up saying 'what do you think of me?'...see how he answers. if want, you can always start off by saying i like you a lot...do you feel the same?
if not, you guys can always be friends for now...and see what the future lies together. good luck :)

a peck to the lips always worked for me!!!(just a short kiss)
it can be interpreted as a friendly or loving gesture.
check his reaction if it says more you have a winner
if not he won't blame you for trying!!!
